pg 135-148 of ガリレオ which is the opening two bits of case 3. a little busy so far compared to the other two? it throws a lot of names at you at once, which is terrible for me but other people might cope better.

吝嗇(りんしょく)家(か) - miser.
壊死(えし) - necrosis. was part of wordplay in the title of the story, which is 壊死(くさ)る

sure! caveat: it’s a fan artist, so it features characters they draw often, and is about something they wanted to draw for the birthday of one of the characters. the relevant bit starts at pg 10, and if you wanna skip that there’s an あとがき of sorts that starts at pg 25 which explains things more fully.

I think at one point I was in about 7 clubs, and the number of manga I was reading with or without them reached 10. I was worried if I had too much, so I put a cap on total reading materials (in Japanese) at 10.
As for now the comfortable amount of book clubs for me is 5-6, depending on difficulty. This way in a week I have 1 bookclub a day (preferably 1 chapter a day to properly digest the plot) and 1-2 days for lazing around/my own reading. In an ideal scenario :sweat_smile:

By managed, are we just talking about participating in? In that case, the max I did was 7, and it felt horrible. I had that pile of book next to my reading chair and I would just read a bit, reach the end of the week, put the bookmark and move the book to the bottom of the pile, then take the next one, and repeat. It takes efforts for me to start reading something, and it’s annoying to stop reading once I get started. And I would get that feeling over and over. Hated it.

Nowadays, I can’t even properly join a club. I will sit on a book for like 4 weeks before getting started (so I can’t participate in the conversation), then read the whole thing in 2~3 sittings and be incapable of saying anything anymore because spoilers. There were a couple of clubs I tried really hard to follow along to on Natively, but I ended up dropping out or reading ahead anyway.
