You know, I had downloaded a sample of this book like more than a year ago when my reading level was lower and I found it near impossible to enjoy. Thanks for bringing it here, I may give it another try at some point.

It’s my bookwalker ebook app version. I was confused as well since I assumed it would show standard pagination, but for some reason it doesn’t. When I’ve been putting my inputs into Natively, the amount I’ve read and the percentage they give are way out of sync so I had to change the number of pages listed on Natively to agree with the version I’m reading. I’ve never used Bookwalker before these last couple of books so I’m not sure if what I’m experiencing is normal….

Ohhhh, it depends on the device then. Your device’s screen is bigger than a normal book so it’s displaying more characters per page, and less ‘pages’ in the book.
To get around the weird pages issue, usually when I’m counting pages on bookwalker to input into Natively, I use my laptop every time (so it remains consistent), and the page count it comes up with is generally close to the page count of the paper copy. I also update it on Natively because I like the percentages to match.

I just played around with my font size and managed to get to 241 pages…not sure I like the size though

Personally for ebooks I just input percentages from the ebook into natively, and use the page count from natively, since it’s usually taken from the tankobon physical version and thus is more consistent for page tracking over time. E.g. my kindle version usually has either 15% less pages than a bunkobon or maybe 10% more than a tankobon, but I don’t use the kindle page count.
For physical books I usually overwrite the natively page count with the physical page count if it’s different because again it makes it easier to track

Turns out there were a couple things from the 2001 section that I either misremembered or misunderstood. But anyway, I really liked the book! And I liked how the case was resolved. I got some things right, and there were some things that I didn’t foresee.
In any case, let’s see if I can get further than case 2 in Jeweller Richard this time around! lol. It’s still a bit on the more difficult side for me, but that would be resolved soon enough if I actually freaking read it
Seigi, constantly describing the hue of Richard’s eyes and finding different ways of describing his beauty, suddenly wondering how old he is, telling himself that the thing he’s sad to see going is actually the ring he’s entrusted to him…
(Okay, so I’ll give that the wondering about his age doesn’t necessarily indicate any interest in him, and that me thinking that he seems disappointed that he missed the chance to ask him may just be me reading into it, but. Seigi, love, you are not straight.)

Today I picked the mystery pick, にが手と耳たぶの穴, as it was shorter and I didn’t have as much time to read today so I thought that that’d be the best option.
I was wrong. This thing is so dense in writing, super long sentences… I couldn’t get through it all and was left pretty confused.
It was something about snakes… I think

I played more 英雄伝説 碧の軌跡. It’s time to enter Oroshi tower where the Trade Conference happens. There was a warning that I won’t be able to leave once I enter. That probably means that the main story will progress. I am curious what will happen.

I feel like I am reading this faster than before, but that’s it. There are still several places where I have to reread at least once to get what it’s saying—assuming I am able to understand it. Of course, the speed could simply be that I’ve read these two cases twice before; I suppose we’ll find out once I start the third.

Between books - still deciding what I want to read next so read all available episodes of a SR story I haven’t yet read. One of my goals for 2025 was to finish reading everything on SR (my subscription runs out early in 2026). I’ve still got a few random episodes of continuing stories to read but should be able to get through them pretty quickly
