December 3rd ![]()
…wait a minute, yesterday I said I read 鼻 thinking it was the pre-vetted pick, but it was actually the mystery pick not that it really matters, I read anyway guess I was just drawn to more Akutagawa ![]()
Anyway, today I did read the pre-vetted pick with it being マスク, I found this one a bit wordy so it took awhile to get through each sentence, but not too bad - other than a few old-ities, it felt pretty modern.

〜and one reading practice on bunpro
How do you keep track in your head of all these books? Not even in my native language do I read so many books at 1 time. (I may start one and leave off for awhile and go to another but not consistently reading many different books in a day).
A lot of these on my list at the moment are just sat there and I’m not currently reading, just will go back to them at some point when I have more time.
But if I’m actively reading maybe 4 or 5 books in 1 day sometimes, I don’t find it that hard to keep track. I keep notes for names of characters for reference which is probably one of the harder things to keep track of, but the stories I don’t find so hard. Usually some of them are ongoing series which I know the characters and stories well which helps
I read 17 pages in about 4 sessions, 90 minutes of 修学旅行で仲良くないグループに入りました, so I am now at 132 of 248 (52%). I have just caught up with the drama (I am in the middle of the confession scene).

Book finished
Need to just read rest of コーヒー book already. Will literally only take me like 2 or 3 hours to finish from here, should just get it done
December 1
I played 英雄伝説 碧の軌跡 and started the quest fighting the ghosts in the temple. It was short I though I would once again need to clear the whole area.

Started Happiness to try to get a leg up on the reading advent challenge. While I’ve gotten 50 pages in in only like 15 min, I don’t like it so far. I’ve got 3 volumes and I have a feeling they’re going to end up in my sell-back pile quickly.
I finished vol 1. I think I see what it’s going for vampirism-wise. Also, I thought they were middle schoolers, but Natively says they’re high schoolers. I like that a bit better, but I think the older I get, the less I enjoy stories that revolve around grade schoolers
Have you already done 1000 paper cranes in a year? Could be a fun one if not!
You might have noticed this challenge didn’t have the instructions that I normally add. I just want to check if people prefer that or not
December 4th ![]()
Read both the stories for the advent today, and both are about death - wait, I guess that might be intentional since it’s the 4th and 四 could be read as し ( 死)
Since 死体置場への招待 is about a mortician there was a few technical terms that I hadn’t seen before like - 蛋白質 (たんぱくしつ) = proteins (as in biological compounds).
I enjoyed how morbid this one was. I feel I may be one of the few hoping for absolute deranged, morbid and wild stories from the mystery picks ![]()

I feel burnt out after the crazy couple of weeks full with the exam prep, I’m recovering this week. I also had a couple of busy days, but I tried to sleep as much as I could and don’t push myself. I hope that after the exam I’ll be ready to return to my usual reading routine ![]()

Though I’d start reading the book club which started like 2.5 week ago already. I already like the language, but decided to spend some time reading about Yakuza and kabuki vocab, which I did a bit (not tracked).

Just a bit of flipping through the book.
