Here we encounter again words in katakana that have kanji equivalents like ヤギ (goat), オオカミ (wolf) and ケガ (injury). Thanks to @enbyboiwonder for the explanation. I guess I’ll just have to make do with accepting these as they are even with no valid reason ![]()
Words of note:
- 眩しい [まぶしい] uncomfortably bright, dazzling or radiant used in the context of when light is shining in your eyes and it’s way too bright that you need to shield your eyes from it
- 肉食動物 [にくしょくどうぶつ] carnivore
- 草食動物 [そうしょくどうぶつ] herbivore
- ヤギ [山羊] is there kanj]goat
- ケガ [怪我] injury
- 交代でX [こうたい] to do something in in turns or in shifts e.g. 交代で眠る sleep in shifts/turns
- 乗り切る [のりきる] to get through (adversity); to weather; to get over; to tide over; to overcome
