Hello,
I’ve been wanting to start reading manga in Japanese and to join one of the reading groups, so I’ve been attempting to get manga for Kindle from Amazon.jp. I read the guides here and got a Japanese address from Tenso and used it to set up an account on Amazon.jp.
Everything seemed to be okay and I had successfully gotten a couple of kindle e-books, when suddenly between one purchase and the next, it told me that I was trying to purchase from outside the country listed in my account and it will no longer let me make any purchases. I didn’t change any settings or anything like that, it just seemed to suddenly realise I’m not in Japan in between me buying one book and then trying to get the next in the series.
Does anyone know what the problem might be and how I might fix it? I’m so confused
There is a limit to how many books you can purchase on kindle on one account outside of Japan, as far as I’m aware.
There are three possible ways to solve this problem:
1.Create a new account when you can’t buy more books on your current one(and buy books on the new account)
2. Use a VPN
3. Go to Japan
I haven’t actually bought all that much stuff on kindle myself either though, so this is basically just what I’ve heard from other people and could be wrong.
so far. I’m using bookwalker because they accept PayPal, unfortunately some titles are not available for people living outside Japan though. I think on ebookjapan they have every title available to purchase, I just never used it because I don’t own a credit card.
I can also recommend ebookjapan, I bought several books using the site and it works great. Another thing I really like is they often give away manga at times, so if you’re not picky about what you read it can be great for getting material for reading practice.
