Pledge of Allegiance

It would be way more fun if it ended with like, a Whoo! that was officially a part of it. Everyone has to shout Whoo! in unison. with as much sarcasm and mockery as desired

I’ve seen a lot of posts deleted and have an idea about what a few of them have said. I want to, again, disclaim, that I personally do not believe it is right to force children to recite the Pledge. I also think it is creepy and super nationalist. As a teacher, I do not force any children to say the Pledge or even ask them to stand for it. I do not believe that is right. However, my school does read the Pledge during morning announcements each day. The best I can do as a teacher is do my best to make my space as welcoming as possible to as many of the students in the honestly-less-diverse-than-ideal space that I work. I feel that this is one way to accomplish that, showing openness to other cultures, and even comes with the bonus of displaying my own interests. It is also displayed in Spanish, and I am working with a student to get a reliable Arabic translation as well.
