I’ll join in too, according to wkstats I’m currently on track to make it just in time, so I’m excited to see if I can stick with it. Team 木 please
Ok I’m in!
So I somehow completely missed the update on the original post and was wondering why everybody was talking about teams, woopsie
Anyways I’m joining team 水 (what do teams do exactly?)
I just did my 113 lessons all in one hit… stupid or clever? I haven’t decided yet! That was a lot of information. Wish my memory good luck guys. Haha.
Well… it seems I’m probably going to be an easy opponent to beat, haha.
But then I’m using this group for getting back to doing lessons regularly on WK, considering I probably got my first 7 or so levels last year, and then have taken forever this year to get anywhere. At the same time, I’m too busy with Japanese classes to go full speed on WK.
I want to make an effort to level quicker for a bit, without overloading myself. I want to really start reading mangas and such, and it seems that getting to 30 sooner rather than later would be good for that.
Well, atleast it’s starting to look like I might have overtaken @Angelnoir the ol’ slacker
@sulami I added you to the leaderboard, but since you’re already a member you should be able to edit the ranking yourself
@Kare-uso Congratz on the level up!
Thank you, now I’m forced to pay
If you see someone from your opposing faction (火) on the street you must duel to the death, but if you find someone from a friendly faction (木) then you have to buy them cake. Or not, it’s all good!
You get to pay. Wouldn’t you feel real guilty if you had to use WaniKani for free? See, it’s for your own good.
Yet another incentive to finish asap
With my current setup (write everything down on a notebook) i’ll be fine by the time I hit 60, I won’t have to renew my subscription
I was at level six, lots of life stuff happened and I didn’t do any WK for over a year, reset and am back again. This time, I’m determined to stick at it.
I work and have a 1 and a half year old, so WK is my thing. She’s half Japanese, so I want to improve my skills to help her become bilingual.
Good goals! Reading manga in Japanese would be super cool!! Good luck with your classes. I’m sure you will do well.
Wow, that is quite busy. I’ll be cheering you on! がんばってね.
Aspiring to make your kid bilingual is amazing! As someone who learned English in school (Swedish is my first language) and then kept at it until I became fluent, I definitely appreciate knowing two languages and I hope Japanese will be the third one I can say I know (which is a moving target, but being able to hold conversations about most things generally, reading most anything I want (aka manga/novels/etc, not all academic texts), is probably my goal for Japanese).
Count me IN!
WKstats says I won’t make it until October but I’m here to prove that wrong!
WKstats estimates I’ll reach it by 9/20/2020, but if I’m successful in leveling up in 10 days or less I should make it by August!
I love your picture!
Sorry I’ve been absent! I’ll rejoin this evening. Between the two of us, we can keep it organized if it kills us XD
Thanks for sharing your story. Japanese as a 3rd language? Go you! That’s fantastic. いっしょうにがっばりましょう!
I used to take classes in Japanese but it’s too hard with a bubba now. I stopped when I was 8 months pregnant, but studied for around 4 years. I can understand a lot, read and write both katakana and hiragana, but my lack of kanji knowledge always held me back…
Also, as my little girl is half Japanese, I want her to be able to speak Japanese and understand her roots. Her dad speaks English, but his parents and family do not speak a word of it. I’ve always been able to get by with my basic language skills, but I want better for her than what I have… we live in Australia so she’s not immersed in Japanese. We sing all the nursery rhymes and watch TV in Japanese and her dad never speaks to her in English. I hope she ends up like you @MissDagger, fluent in 2 languages! (And I get better at my Japanese along the journey! Lol)
Thanks. It seems you are doing great for yourself and your kid. いっしょにがんばりましょうね。
I went looking and saw you haven’t picked a team yet. I recently left the team I was meaning to be in. Are you planing to pick a team? I’ll join you.
Thanks @MissDagger!
I want to choose a team, but was procrastinating because I couldn’t decide which one. Lol. Silly indecisive me. Haha. I know it’s just for fun and there is no other meaning…
Okay, it’s settled! I’m choosing team 空. Not many people have joined that one. I like the metaphorical idea for reaching to the sky and achieving level 60! Let’s do this!
