I use that constantly when speaking, because it’s a very easy way to course correct from accidentally speaking casually and then turning it into a formal sentence in the cases when you can’t just stick a ですon the sentence ![]()
Using this article for Day 1
Genki had ~よ and ~ね as grammar point, so to me that def counts! I’m afraid to ask but how many are there… spooky grammar ![]()
Ahhh that’s a good way to do it! I’ll keep that in mind.
Alright! I’ll keep that in mind after I’m wrapping up Keigo
Pandora’s spooky home post

Studied
- Quartet chapter 1 + Andy’s video lesson part 1 + 2
- Quartet chapter 2
- Bunpro lessons from either Quartet, things I’ve seen in the wild or continued from N4

Been meaning to chip away at the JLPT Sensei N3 book, so I’ll be joining.
Did 30 minutes of study for today.
Well done everyone!

I want to keep up my routine of watching at least one grammar video per day, most days of the week. Currently I’m following this playlist from the channel Programa Japonês Online (a great resource for Brazilian Portuguese speakers!
).

Re-read the verbs lesson from Cure Dolly. I still get them confused but less than before ![]()
My ruleset for this challenge:
- Keep an eye on posts for grammar that looks like it’d be nice to write an article on.
- Sub-condition: It needs to have come up in manga I’ve read before.
- Read up on the grammar and write up an article on it.
- Include an example of the grammar used in at least one manga panel.
Updatable stamp card:
For day one, I went with ならともかく (mentioned by @hotdogsuplex earlier in this thread).
Here’s the result:
Since I used a panel from Detective Conan, I’ve used him to stamp day one.
Now to see if I can keep at it for 29 more days…
総まとめ
第1週4日目
- 〜でたまらない
- 〜でしょうがない
- 〜て叶わない
- 〜でならない
All iterations of “it can’t be helped” / “i can’t help but…” / “i can’t stand it if…”
Yes, everyone keep talking about ならともかく bc that has been a leech for me lately. You all are making it stick now ![]()
Yay! 2 entries from ADOBJG, や (屋) and や (conjunction)
Interesting tidbit about the difference between や and とか is that とか is more general, while や is tied to a specific time and place ![]()
This is such good motivation, I’d love to join! I want to finish up the N5 material in MaruMori and finally dig into N4 after going through N5 stuff in 3 different ways ![]()
Today I did ~過ぎる which I have always been so confused by and remain pretty confused by! I get the concept but trying to figure out what it means depending on positive/negative still takes me a while.

Seeing so many people join is amazing, welcome all and good luck with the challenge. Now I def won’t fail!
Also loving the different ways people are using the card.

If anyone would like some decorations on their card, but doesn’t know how to, let me know and I can help. ![]()
Another 5 grammar points done. By Friday next week, if I keep up the pace I should be done adding all N2 granmar in Bunbro!
