(Seriously tho, what’s wrong with my question marks ?)
It’s that French Grammar says exclamation marks, question marks and some other symbols need a space before them, while in English Grammar – as well as in many other languages with the Latin alphabet – a space before the symbol would be wrong and thus look weird.
Ah, right. I was aware of that for the colon, never realized it also applied to question and exclamation marks.
Long shot and maybe the wrong place to ask, but; Does anyone know of any beginner/intermediate book clubs that meet in person in Tokyo? I think it would be nice for me to have a social meet up too to stay a bit more accountable with reading ![]()
I think you might be better of making your own thread for that question so even people that aren’t checking out the Beginner Book Club will see it. Good luck with your search!
is Afternoon Yawning the winner? looking forward to it ![]()
Yep, after many rounds of support posts, it’s finally managed to win ![]()
So, @simboubou , as the nominator (and frequent promoter) are you ok to run the book for Afternoon Yawning?
Well. Who would actively campaign for something and then refuse to handle it once it’s decided ?
(…many people actually)
Sure thing !
I’m not sure I’ll be able to read it all myself tho, but maybe handling the club will give me a good incentive. I might also get the French translation to help things go smoothly.
Do we have a checklist of some sort ?
Why yes, the legends of WK have created some resources stickied at the top of the Book Clubs category to help you:
- Tips for Running a WaniKani Book Club
- Master List of Book Clubs to add your thread once you are set up and with any major future updates (club finished, offshoot started / completed)
