How do you set it up on Android (other than manually downloading and setting)?
@Masayoshiro should accept the change, and re-deploy the site. After that, everybody will get their wallpapers fixed (in case they used any of the WaniKani-based sequences). So there won’t be any gaps, that caused by migration of some of the kanji between levels (like https://www.wanikani.com/kanji/又, that used to be on Level 2 three years ago).

There’s an app called Tasker that you can use to automate downloading the wallpapers, but I don’t really know how to use it. I recorded this video last year showing how to set it up.

I appreciate the update. I have been saving these weekly for fun and keep me motivated. Really good visualisation of the progress!
Althouuugh, there are now still a lot of gaps for those I have learned.
could you point to some specific gaps? I’ve used script to take kanji and levels layout from https://www.wanikani.com/kanji, it is unlikely that something has changed in few days. Are you using one WaniKani orders on the wallpaper configuration page?
I’m unsure what you mean by that sorry. I use “wanikani levels - grouped in sections”. I had a look through the other kanji sets and also found them either grey or missing entirely (fairly so I assume. 苺 isn’t Joyo apparently.)

Also fwiw the Joyo list have a blank space and a weird character that overlaps and looks like it might be “®”. Can’t say I’m personally bugged by this though.
I wonder if it could be something WaniKani related, because those kanji correspond to their level and position in the file:
頁 is on its place, surrounded the kanji just like on the web page
The second issue is interesting, it really something broken with encoding in the file
@Masayoshiro, I’ve created another PR, as I didn’t notice that WaniKani set is also used to reorder other lists.
@Zyk, this patch also fixes that weird encoding issue with Joyo.

i’ve noticed that the wallpaper generated with the “Default” kanji set seems to be missing the last 7 kanji from the list, presumably due to the subset options limiting the last kanji # setting to 2048. maybe i’m missing something but it seems like the site needs to be updated to allow the full list? other wanikani specific kanji sets don’t seem to be affected (at a glance) but are still labeled as having 2048 kanji in their list.
Thank you for pointing that out! It should be all set now. You may also have to update your Subset options for it to take effect.

it seems the generator is not working right anymore although it still did a few days ago.
Now I get the message:
nput rejected for kanji_set: jlpt-ordered-by-wanikani
Some orders seem to work but most of the WaniKani ones not.
I would be really nice if you could fix it.

Some sets seem to work for me, but the default one doesn’t (generates a blank image).
On https://wkw.natural20design.com/order.php?order=default it shows all sections as empty:

This is fixed now. Sorry, I have no idea why it broke. A lot of the kanji order files were deleted, and some weird ones were generated that didn’t make any sense. I’m assuming that it was just a temporary glitch. Thank you again for alerting me to the issue, @MikkaFelipe and @Jrom!
Update: I found out why it broke. The script for generating the kanji order files accidentally wasn’t password-protected, and some bot was able to access it. Whoops!

OMG this is so fun.
I’m feeling ready to tackle the N2 is Dec. (obviously n3 would be safer but I live on the edge lol)
I also downloaded the Kanken one which was awesome. Of course the Kanken involves way more knowledge than wanikani provides but I feel ready to start studying for the Level 4! yay!
I was feeling down in the dumps yesterday because I realize that if I had put as much time into Spanish as I have into Japanese I would be fluent x2. It made me a little sad how far I still have to go, but. I persevere.

Thank you for pointing that out! It’s been so long since I wrote this that I forgot how to update it properly . I updated it correctly this time, though, so your wallpaper should be hole-free .
