Yea I do, it’s easily more convenient than Romaji input on the phone. I just wish it had a handwriting input attached to it like the Google Pinyin input does too

It describes the part of skin between knee socks and shorts/mini skirt. I thought it was hilarious that the Japanese had a word for something so specific!

根杢 - A cut of wood where the wood grain appears to 'Originate" from.
虎斑 - Tiger’s Stripes. But again seeming to refer to visual wood grain.
孔雀杢 - Peacock styled Wood Grain, and yes 孔雀 is also Peacock.
黄楊 - “Box Tree”, it seems to be a species native to Japan and Taiwan. It’s an evergreen shrub.

If you weren’t aware it’s an Evangelion reference.
It seems to be a common practice to switch the order of syllables to create a slang word.
For example I recently encountered
ぱいせん = 先輩 senior
めんご = ごめん sorry
ぱいおつ = おっぱい breasts

Some words such as ネタ have become so established it’s not immediately obvious to people they’re 逆読み

Oh no, don’t feel stupid! It’s used commonly as its own word these days, so I wouldn’t be surprised if the original joke was lost on a lot of Japanese people as well, especially younger ones who didn’t grow up in the 90s.
