Aha. That’s the half I didn’t get.
well that’s stuck in my head now, thanks
Thats it ! The art is gold, i love it
I understand the cat one now thanks to Belthazar and you, but I dont get how the sale sale → sasa lele one is funny… Thanks for clearing it up though
It’s a misreading of the sale signs.

But this one somewhat makes sense. Sasa lele is just random gibberish…
Yeah, a better image for this meme would probably be the confused little old lady one.
But don’t underestimate the internet’s ability to start crusades over random gibberish.
Technically, in Japanese, さされれ could be the imperative form of さされる which is the passive form of さす. It’s a bit weird to put an imperative on a passive, but it’s technically possible. 水を差されれ!
Yeah I know, still feels like a case of spotty translation
診察室 ( しんさつしつ)
Try saying that three times fast.
Technically that would be さされろ, though.
You are right, not the imperative, the hypothetical (?) form 仮定形.
Never heard of that! But I don’t want to derail this thread from memes any further.
That is possibly my favourite meme of all time
Thank you!
And yes, it’s supposed to be “reviews”! I didn’t put a ton of thought into a lot of the Japanese on there though and at the point of adding that text I was 2 hours in and just wanted it to be done. I guess that just sounded correct in my head, although I’d still say “リビュー” sounds best to me.
I would place pitch accent as the bigger giant, though
