I will be visiting Japan in two weeks and planning to show my husband around Tokyo since he’s very new to Japan. I passed N3 in December, so I’m not too shabby at Japanese, but since I’ll be his guide I want to do the best I can and I’m a little rusty. I was wondering if anyone had some resources that would be helpful in learning vocabulary related to restaurants and checking in/out of hotels. Just general tourist stuff, I suppose. I lived in Tokyo for two months but that was a few years ago, so I already know how to navigate basic stuff. My vocabulary just sucks.

If you are in the USA and have a library card, the Pimsleur CDs are useful. There is also the Mango language app that has a whole section on those kinds of survival -type phrases.
Any old phrasebook from the second-hand bookshop will do the trick, honestly. On my first trip, I went with a pocket-sized Berlitz phrasebook (though, it was old enough that it lacked words like “internet” or “mobile phone”, one of the dangers of buying second-hand, but hey, it did the trick. Mostly).
P.S. Send photos?
