Actually watched a bit of the latter late last night, maybe 40min? Basically super chill zatsudan.
Not this time, but Kanae mentioned he listens to Keshi. I was so surprised. I think he knows more English than I actually think that he does, too. His pronunciation isn’t always the best tho, hehe.
Felt like I was running out of videos from my usual channels, so I tried one from the podcast masterlist. I feel that it’s a tad too slow for my taste.

Surprising, considering how I basically missed all of November
But semi-daily practice really does work! I think I might go back to watching some anime with minimal/blurred JP subs, as I’ve got a mini list building in my head of what I want to see. I hope to get good enough so I can translate stuff for my mom whenever a channel has no official eng subs
Searched around again and found a collab between Ken and Yuki from Comprehensible Japanese. I liked these videos because it was less scripted than the typical listening practice, and also had a LOT of background noise from crowds and speakers/music, so it was around my level. (makes me think of the Spanish ThisIsLang videos I had to watch in middle school…)
The only thing I dislike is the constant, distracting subtitles, especially the English at the bottom… I try to only look at subs when I truly need it, and now I have to look away from the screen or really focus on the middle.

As long as it’s not Japanese Mister Donut, they’re terrible.
Well terrible might be an exaggeration, but they’re aimed at Japanese people’s tastes, not US or anywhere else. Me and all of my American/European/Australian friends think their donuts are disgusting, in complete opposite to all the Japanese kids I know who love them. Japan doesn’t do good western-style donuts generally
Another Ken and Yuki collab. I think this is the first time I’ve ever heard anyone say they liked to play on a unicycle as a hobby when they were a kid

I started watching all of the Japanese Godzilla movies in order of release date. The next one on the list is King Kong vs Godzilla (1962), so I decided to watch the 1933 King Kong before I start that one for some context. Maybe Son of Kong next. Not Japanese movies but thought I’d note it here since I’m watching it between Japanese movies. I also read that King Kong played a role in inspiring Godzilla 20 years later, so it will be interesting to see the similarities side by side
