There is another manga that features a trans-male person. I forgot the exact name but I remember something like „Boys run the riot“ or so?

As far as しまなみ誰そ彼, I read through it on my own and loved the kind of enemies to lovers tropes. I would be happy to read it again because my level is much higher this time.

To everyone in the thread I’ve fine with everything that has been proposed.
We previously decided to read さびしすぎてレズ風俗に行きましたレポ but the level was quite advanced so it kind of stalled out a lot of readers.
I think 不可解なぼくのすべてを would be enjoyable by most, even if you skimmed it more than read. しまなみ誰そ彼 was cute and would be another intermediate read. Happy to create another poll. If we want to choose a few to pick between and given a short synopsis for the poll.

Since this club has already read 不可解なぼくのすべてを, I think a new book/series might be better, but that’s just my opinion.
I couldn’t keep up with the club then and I’m still working on catching up in two other book clubs along with making some attempt at my own personal goals, so I most likely wouldn’t be able to join the revival anyway although I probably will join if it’s something I already own

Just hopping in to say that I love しまなみ and would definitely reread it for a bookclub. But I’d also join for other books as well, since this club overlaps a lot with what I usually read

If we’re still looking for nominations of GL, I’d love to recommend 気になってる人が男じゃなかった which just recently got its first volume released as well!
…Other nominations include Doughnuts Under a Crescent Moon (欠けた月とドーナッツ) and Run away with me, girl (かけおちガール). I don’t want to overrun this thread with nominations though

I can’t really explain all of these one by one. If you have something you are interested in reading I can direct you to the right choices. We have one trans, a couple w/w, two m/m. A few with older or married protags, a few with high school or younger. I’m surprised at the range of choices and at the range of interest, so I’m sure we can find a lot of options we are all excited to read.

Usually book club polls allow multiple choice so that the book with a plurality wins. Usually there’s some prior announcement about when nominations will close too. I think @shuly was telling me about a cute manga that would probably be a good option too.

You have to make sure you’ve selected this tab and then once you start adding choices, you have to double check the max choices is the right number. I think it usually defaults to 1.

It’s called 僕らの食卓 [our dining table] was one of the first BL books I ever ordered years ago, couldn’t read it at the time but heck 2-3 years ago picked it up again and was fairly easy. From what I remember it wasn’t overly adult. Though TBH haven’t looked through the manga in a few years, but it’s super cute adorable. It’s about well heck it’s easier to steal so here’s the beginning synopsis w/o spoilers
“Yutaka, a salary man, is not good at eating with others due to an incident in his childhood. He always eats alone, and his menu consists of homemade bomb-size rice balls and supermarket side dishes. One day, as usual, when he’s about to eat lunch at the park, a kid, Tane, asks for Yutaka’s rice ball, so he gives it to him. The next day, Tane and his older brother - Minoru came to apologize, but due to Tane said that Yutaka’s rice balls were too delicious, Minoru asked Yutaka to teach him how to make rice balls. Although his mind was disconcerted, Yutaka still paid a visit to their house. The 3 are making rice balls and eating together.”
A live action was done this year and I recently started watching it, and it is as endearing as I remember. And the actor playing たね (the kid) is hella adorable.

Okay per my unofficial book club advisor who has counseled me not to be so impulsive. おかげで上手になる！
I’m going to close this current poll and give until next Monday for any final nominations to arrive. (We have so many good ones I feel like we can work through these all for the next year…) Then on Monday I’m going to re open in with the ability to choose multiple choices so that you can show love for all you favs.
Tentatively Schedule is:
Nominations Now - End of Day Sept 11th.
Voting open for a week - Ends Monday Sept 18th
Start of the Book - Week of 10/14 (gives about 4 weeks if you wish to purchase physical copy.)
This coincides with finishing しまなみたそがれ, My impulsive unofficial pick to tide over anyone who has it already or wants to download via kindle. I can post snap shots of some pretty scenes, I really just love the art style. ANYWAY,
