Was all over the place. Thought trying to do them as soon as they came up was the best way to do them, but it really wasn’t.
As for lessons it was all based on my apprentice count. I usually hovered around 100-120 so would do 5 new lessons each day. Occasionally I would get it under 100 and do 10 for a day or two, or go over 120 and start to do days with no lessons, but was pretty consistent over all. I usually didn’t do lessons over the weekend, so you’d probably say an average of 50 per week.
Works out to be nearly 4 and a half years to do all the lessons at that rate, so accounting for my screw ups, burnouts etc. that’s pretty spot on.
It really is tough with young kids. The one thing I would recommend from experience is to adopt the 3 times a day routine and adjust it around your kids and work. For a 9 to 5 desk job I found getting to work early and doing it first thing, then doing more at lunch, and then the last of it when kids have gone to bed and chores have been done to work the best.
The before work was really just clearing my reviews and doing any new lessons for the day, lunch was more reviews and some reading, listening or textbook work, then the night routine was my biggest and was mostly the same as lunch. Your WaniKani reviews will naturally adjust after a while and fit in quite well with this routine.
Cool! I am doing something similar. I introduce 50 new ones on Sunday, and just review throughout the week. On Sunday I do 4 review sessions. During the week, I review three times a day. One at 8am, another at 11am and another at 3pm.
Wow! Congratulations in reaching that level. This kind of commitment is not a joke so I commend you so much for spending 6 years to reach this kind of level.
