I did it… I finally reached level 12!!! 
I know this isn’t a huge milestone or anything, but… considering I joined WK in 2013 and never made it past level 11 before stopping for several years and then resetting, I’m really happy to have finally taken it down. And with no sign of stopping now! Onwards and upwards!

I think it’s a good idea to slow down on level 21. That was my plan too, but I had to take a break on level 19 instead. I can feel that I really needed the break and the time to really work on what I have learned. Next stop the first observation deck of Tokyo Skytower on level 35!
You and me both! I didn’t leave WaniKani, but I did have a few days here and there with very few reviews. As a result, I have now spent almost a month on level 19. Sigh… But the only way to get to the next level is to work on the reviews, and it’s way better to take a break than to stop completely or to burn out. Onwards and upwards!
The problem is that they let you get a certain number of letters wrong, so “to tell” is only two letters different from “to roll”. You just confused the AI.
As long as you know, it should be ok. Sometimes things break for us and sometimes against us. Consider this one of those lucky breaks and enjoy your 100% 
Been there, done that 
I know the word “onsen” because of manga, so I use that as a base word to remember these. Water in onsen is warm - cue for 温 . 暑 What happens when two things rub against each other, HEAT is generated due to friction. Cue - It is HOT. 湯 What happens when you have sun and water, things heat up easily - cue - hot water.

I just updated the main table after reaching 11. I know I don’t post every level, but after starting at 2 managing to reach 11 feels pretty good.
If I manage to keep up the current rate I’ll reach 20 by the end of the year, which I’m already pretty happy with - but we’ll see if I can manage a few more 7-day levels to reach 21.

I do know the word onsen, too. From anime. It gets mentioned in a lot of ways. Obviously, that’s very different from knowing it in manga. So, I have no problem recognizing onsen, but only because of the 泉 part lol

I understand we differ in the way we perceive things. I don’t expect my cues to match perfectly with your style . But if my cues can at least inspire you to move in the right path or help form your own cues that’s more than good enough for me
