Let’s climb Tokyo Skytree - level 60 in autumn 2023

Yeah it’s terrible. All of the compounds are terrible as well.

Just made it to level 20, 1/3 off the way to the top! :crabigator: :tada: Took a little longer than I meant to on this level and I might have to slow down a bit now that my school semester has stared, but hopefully I can keep up a good pace.

Yay! Congrats! Next goal: The first observation deck at level 35. Onwards and upwards!

I’m on level 10, almost 1/6 off the way to the top.
Averaging a level in 10-11 days I hope to reach level 60 by the beginning of 2022.

You’re in the right place here in this thread then

I just did these levels so maybe it’s just because it’s fresh. I do my own mnemonics and the one for 故 is:

Be careful, OLD man WINTER can easily changed a KID’s (子) circumstances.

Maybe that’ll help you. I imagine old man winter’s gonna mess you up if you give him a reason so watch out, kid.

I think it’s more of the ゆえ reading and the compounding meanings, at least for me. Like, remembering 故障 is malfunction or 故意 is intention.

Ahh I see! Yeah. I think I just got luck of the draw then because I already knew those two words and their meanings, had to just connect the kanji with them which is a lot easier to keep track of. I’m still grinding through some of the left over vocab from that level so we’ll see how the rest goes. I was super thankful that some of the vocab was straight forwards literal items.

違い・大違い・読み違い・人違い
獣・野獣・怪獣・
汗・汗臭い

Still struggling with all the “judge” and “righteousness” words from previous levels! :sob:

Yeah exactly this, but I did enjoy your mnemonic, @Deenarrhea

Glad you enjoyed it! Incidentally, I finished up the rest of the vocab lessons from that level after posting. Oof. Found those annoying vocab words. At least now level 26 is fully behind me. (Except for the ever-growing reviews…)

Happy anniversary cake day, @Ptscan!

Ooh I see that @Ptscan started in 2014. Did they reset? If so is it a level 60 second rounder, a lower level reset after too long of a break? Or someone who technically joined but only really started recently?

Either way, good luck!

I’m in! I cannot edit the post and have no clue about what to put in speed, but this is very motivating! I hope to actually visit the Skytree if by 2022 Corona is no longer a thing and I have reached level 60!

Do you see the “Edit” icon at the bottom right of the post?
Click on it and add yourself (with the constructions above) on the very bottom.

Edit: I forgot about the discourse trust levels. As @fengduoyin has pointed out you need to stick around for a bit, after that you can follow these instructions to add yourself.

Welcome to the community!

You will get the opportunity to edit wiki posts once you receive “Basic” status on Forums. For that you need to reach trust level 1, which has these requirements:

Get to trust level 1 by…

  • Entering at least 5 topics
  • Reading at least 30 posts
  • Spend a total of 10 minutes reading posts

You can read more here: Understanding Discourse Trust Levels

As for the speed, this is how many days you plan to spend on one level. Right now you should just focus on going trough your free levels to determine which speed is comfortable for you, I think. I myself spend about 8-10 days on one level right now.
