Lesson Batch Sizing Change Suggestion

I agree as it can be challenging for the new users, perhaps this should be a feature locked behind the paywall that comes with reaching level 3 in Wanikani.

Generally people have an understanding how the app works by then because you spent at the very earliest 21 days on the app.

I think an intro guide to how things work would be a good alternative.

When I started WaniKani, many of the things people often mention on the forums as problematic / pain points are habits I had to develop on my own. Things like knowing the order of items in the review queue, how many lessons to do without getting overwhelmed, how to time reviews, etc. Not sure if it’s gotten better, but much of the know-how back then was purely empirical and forum tribal knowledge.

Especially problematic is the exponential disconnect between the various review stage queues and one’s review load. Apprentice items come in quickly so it’s easy to anticipate. But then you have Guru, etc. with their own stages.

I already know a lot of kanji and vocab (passed N2, attempted N1, basically done with my masters in Japanese studies) so I’m just here to refresh my memory and learn the words my classes didn’t cover. There aren’t that many new items to learn. So I want to get to the new levels as fast as possible and as long as my accuracy stays above 90% I think it’s fine. It’s also quite satisfying to have zero new lessons ^^

I tried and failed to install a script for something else and gave up. I’m not good with computer stuff.
