Kun'yomi first?

I’ve been wondering for a while, why is the Kun’yomi sometimes shown first when you get a new kanji? It sometimes really confuses me, because if I’m struggling to remember which reading is which in what vocabulary context, I just rely on the order I learnt the kanji in (On’yomi first). So is there any particular reason?

WK teaches the most common reading(s) first, regardless of whether they are kun- or onyomi. The reason is that you learn faster if you concentrate on the most common reading and learn the other ones through vocab and practice.
