So I did my lessons today, and decided to do all of the radicals, plus kanji.
My new plan involves always doing all of the lessons available for kanji and radicals, and if there aren’t any, then do up to 20 vocabulary items.
Today I did 22 radicals, and 13 kanji.
I was surprised how much I had remembered from before!

So today was pretty good for reviews. I made a couple of vocabulary mistakes at my lunchtime review, but managed to get through all of my evening reviews without a single mistake! Nice!
Now that I can see more clearly how long I need to wait before reviews and lessons (because I’m out of level 2). I think that yesterday’s approach of doing all of the available kanji and radicals as soon as they’re available is the best move. I’ll have finished those kanji and radicals tomorrow evening, at which point I will have unlocked the next set of kanji, and so I should be level 4 by Thrusday. (I think!)
I’m conflicted now, though. Tomorrow morning I will finish the available lessons, but I will unlock my new lessons in the evening. Do I do lessons in the evening? I like the idea of doing lessons in the morning, so I may hold back, as tempting as it is to do them.
Anyway, here’s the before and after on my dashboard from this evening!
My earlier mistakes were りつ instead of たつ I confused the mnemonic (instead of standing up to say ta-ta, I was thinking of standing up to LEave, so yep! Now for this vocabulary, I imagine the bad guy in Jingle All the Way standing up and saying “Ta-ta, Turboman!”.
My 大きさ mistake was in the meaning. I mixed it up with 大した.
七つ I instead wrote なのつ!
Live and learn I guess! 
I also got the heatmap userscript that you suggested @NeoArcturus. It’s really nice!

It will look even nicer in a month or two, when you regularly do your reviews, because then, you’ll have a lot more colors on it 
(or at least more colored squares hehe)
I always do the radical lessons immediately after leveling up, and then I do the kanij lessons usually the next day, but always before I unlock the rest of the kanji.
But, in some levels on your way to level 60 and, I think, in the last 16 levels, you’ll immediately have enough kanji unlocked to make it to the next level without doing the radicals. However, I highly recommend that you still do the radicals together with the kanji then, because they will still be used in kanji that you won’t unlock if you don’t do them. Besides, there will only be like 0 to 3 radical lessons in these so called “fast levels”. However, that is still fast away, so I wouldn’t worry about that yet, I just wanted to bring that in
I don’t want to spoiler anything, but 七日 (seven days, seventh day, day seven) , which you will encounter soon, if you haven’t already, actually uses that reading for the counter that you used for 七 in 七つ, namely なの
Most day counting vocab seem to use a different reading for the counter than the thing counting vocab, except for 五日, for some reason, it uses the same reading for 五 as the thing counter, which is いつ

That’s right! Actually, I’ve already done 七日 and 五日 
. 九日 and 九つ also have the same reading. I kept making mistakes with つ and 人 before. WK introduces them at the same time, so I guess it’s a common place for people to make mistakes. I already knew the readings for counting people, but I kept writing つ because I was rushing through and just didn’t read it! It’s one of the things that is definitely very different to English. Lots of counting systems! 一個 （いっこ) for small round things, 一分 （いっぷん）for minutes 一回（いっかい）for counting the number of times, 一枚（いちまい）for thin flat objects. These are some of the more common ones used that I hear and use a lot (had to check some of the kanji though!)

Another day has gone, and it has been fairly productive kanji wise. I managed to get through over 50 reviews without a mistake this evening! Woo! I unlocked my next set of kanji, so now I am well on the way to level 4! I did all of the kanji lessons, and some of the vocabulary that I unlocked. I left a few of the more difficult vocabulary items for tomorrow morning.
I also got chatting about reading books in another thread, and have decided to give reading a go. I actually work out of a library here in Japan, and there are probably well over 1000 books and manga. The owner will more than likely allow me to take home a book and study it. I decided to buy myself a reading stand to hold the book, and I’ll use my phone/pc to check kanji and take notes.
I’m also thinking about starting a game in Japanese, and have been thinking of playing Undertale. Partly because it’s a game I’ve not finished yet!
Anyway, not much else to discuss, but I did encounter 九日 today in the wild, when someone said it in the office! Always fun to hear vocabulary I’ve recently been looking at, in context and in the real world I live in!
I’m going to try out the reading tomorrow probably, and post my results tomorrow!

So I have my final level 3 kanji review tomorrow morning! I feel pretty confident!
Today I came across familiar kanji on a book spine 手引, (てび) and knowing the meaning, and on’yomi readings for both, I was trying to work out the meaning. I later found out it means handbook! I didn’t know that 引 could mean “refer to”, so that’s interesting!
Also, Yesterday I mentioned in one of my classes that I was studying kanji. They were very interested in a show of my knowledge by writing kanji on the board! Well that’s not something I’ve been practicing however, I told them I would write my favourite kanji, のま. They were like “Eh?” and the other teacher said “You mean ぬま？” and I said "No, のま” and I wrote 々 on the board. They were all shocked! It seems that the のま reading for it is not really commonly known in Japan! I think most of them didn’t know the reading, perhaps even the teacher. (at least that’s the impression I got!) It meakes sense, because it just repeats the previous kanji. It was probably the best kanji to demonstrate!
Finally, I tried playing Undertale in Japanese, but it uses very little kanji (at least in the beginning) and so I didn’t play for long. I am now starting to think that it may be a really good game to play once my kanji knowledge is good, and I can try to translate the the hiragana into kanji!
I’m going to have to try another game. Elden Ring may be too much though! xD

手引? The weirdness is that Okurigana can be hidden without such Kanji readings in the dictionary.
What did the teacher call? Supposedly 繰り返し or 踊り字? But there are also other kinds.
ノマ, because it’s just that when put very close together.

I was scared to write the き! I checked on Jisho, and it showed the き, but I was like umm 
She may have said, but I didn’t catch it. I was checking on Wikipedia, and it doesn’t help much lol

So we pronounce the き in 手引き, but it isn’t written? It’s similar to how the particle は is pronounced わ?

Up to level four! 
Afterwards, I was greeted with the following.
So I went through all of the radicals and kanji, and It’s definintely getting more difficult now! I’m reaching the last kanji I was learning before my last reset. Some of them I don’t even need to check the mnemonic, because I already know the meaning/reading. However, it was still a little difficult.
Tomorrow morning will be vocabulary. I still have some level 3 vocabulary to do.
I also encountered some wild kanji today at work! One example was inside a manga. I just opened it to this page, and tried to undertand the sentence.
My kinda direct translation was something like “I don’t understand the feelings of a person” and google translated it as “I don’t understand people’s hearts”, so if that is correct, then I think I got it pretty close!
Anyway, gonna do my review of new kanji tonight and hopefully get through it okay!

WK reviews have been going as usual!
I have just started playing Persona 4 in Japanese. I tried Undertale, and it just didn’t have enough kanji to make it worth it right now, I feel. So I thought Persona 4 may be a better option, considering it is a Japanese game.
I have already finished it previously in English too, so I can take my time and try to learn this time round.
My current play time (although not counted in-game) is about 1 hour, and I’m still in the menu! This however is not a bad thing, as I am enjoying finding new kanji! I’m currently on the difficulty selection menu, and I will go with the easiest just so I can focus on the Japanese. I’m currently checking each one though, and putting the new kanji into an anki deck.
I was happy to roughly translate the first sentence here on the SAFETY level. 安心して物語を楽しみたい方にお勧めです。(Rough is: Recommended for those who want to relax and enjoy the story) I already know roughly what it would say in English, but to check each kanji and find some meaning was fun! Also, I now have encountered two kanji/vocab that I already knew the reading for, 楽し and お勧め! Which is awesome, because I’ll more easily be able to recall them!
I used my phone and the jisho dictionary to check the kanji, and was surprised at how capable I was at writing out each of the kanji onto my screen! My phone knew exactly what I was trying to write!
Anyway, back to it.

So, I just made it to level 5! Woo!
I’m basically where I was at before, and I can remember some of the kanji from this level. I just did all of the kanji and radical lessons. (46 or so! )
I’ve been keeping up with my reviews and lessons. At least 10 vocabulary lessons a day, unless I have kanji or radical lessons. Reviews every morning, noon and evening. The most I’ve had was about 60 reviews in one go!
In terms of other forms of study, I haven’t found enough time to do much else over the past week, though I have been keeping an eye out for kanji in the wild! I’m also going to borrow a book from a colleague of mine which has furigana and I’ll see how that goes.
I’ve found that my vocabulary knowledge has really helped in being able to recall the reading of kanji, such as the kanji for copy (写) and knowing the word for photo (写真 - しゃしん) or the kanji for wheat (麦) and knowing the word for barley tea (麦茶 - むぎちゃ), also the kanji for diagram (図) and already knowing the word for map (地図 - ちず).
One thing I feel I should do more, is making my own mnemonics. I feel it helps with retention if you have a relatable or personally stiking story for each kanji.
Edit: One mnemonic I came up with today was for 皮(ひ). The mnemonic for it is: A bear is watching you from behind the branches and he wants to skin you alive. “Hihihi”, he chuckles to himself.
