I am probably like halfway through the N4, and I wonder how different is N3 grammar. Is it harder? And how long does it take to learn all the things in N3?

A good rule of thumb is that pretty much any time you go up from one level to the next, you’ll need to know about twice as many grammar points / kanji / vocab / etc

Specifically on the grammar, there aren’t any new verb forms or entirely new kinds of words. Instead, there are a lot of set phrases to give nuance to what you are saying, for example pointing out that something that happened was surprising or indicating that occurrence 1 caused occurrence 2.
(Of course bunches and bunches of vocabulary and kanji, but that wasn’t your question.)
