…maybe you should have a sticky, temporary post, telling people what the expected downtime is?
I don’t use WK anymore (but I roam the forum a lot) and I haven’t seen a single post from the staff mentioning anything about downtime, so if not for users complaining about the downtime, I wouldn’t even know about it.
I agree, that message “go to the forum for updates” is misleading.

Today the site doesn’t load at all for me at the moment…
Though maybe it’s due to the AWS outage and it somehow affected wanikani? (AFAIR AWS situation is more ore less resolved now)

It’s down for me. Unplanned outage looks like. Aws is a mess as usual. They claim to be resilient and then east-1 falls over and it takes out all the cloud websites.

Edited, probable. Over in the Wanikani Down thread WK is saying it’s due to a Heroku vendor issue. Is that vendor AWS? I wonder in what fashion.
