That’s why spelling bee contests only make sense in english ![]()
…
That can’t be a real word…
What do you mean?.. it’s clearly the word for 迎合 over WK
… you just wait for it ![]()
Here, we say the a in tap as in cat or fat.
I think you were thinking of taco…
I’m an English native speaker, and I didn’t know that. But it exists:
Ooh, ‘taco’ is a good one! I was racking my brain trying to come up with an (American) English word with ‘ta’ pronounced similar to た, and the only thing I could come up with was “Ta-ta!” (as in “see you later”)
What about this one?
That’s funny, but why did you post that?
Presumably because the word “deuteragonist” reminded him of “deuteronomy”. It’s the only other word that starts with “deuter” that I know.
That’s because it’s a Spanish loan word…
Are you talking about tacos, or . . . ?
What about “tada”! ![]()
Yes. ![]()
That works, too!
hi there i’m not an english native too (french) but i’ll try my best here
. i think some of you work their own mnemonic for some word in their native langage and i would like to know if the creator have access to our notes on the appli?
Hi there. I understand this too. I’m not an english native too (Brazil).
As somebody has already mentioned, create your own mnemonics is a helpful tip.
In my case, I crossed with words like “yurt”, “geoduck” and I’ve never wrote it wrong for so many times. Use native words, onomatopeias, stories and jokes to easily memorize them and you will nailed them.
Funny that you mention “yurt” and “geoduck” as those words were totally imported into English and many native speakers wouldn’t know what they mean ![]()
I hadn’t heard of either of them before WaniKani.
I actually did know “yurt” since childhood because it’s not an obsure word in my native language. And picked up “geoduck” a few years before starting WK when looking up new food recipes… and no I haven’t cooked it… yet ![]()
