After 2 year years and 3 months, I finally did it. Although I hit level 60 a couple of weeks ago, I finally finished all my lessons today. It’s been a long process for sure. I’ve reset levels several times, I struggled many times. Heck 2019 was a tough year towards the end but I still pushed through.
I want to thank the people behind this wonderful service. Without them I wouldn’t be able to read Kanji. Sure I’ve got loads to learn still but I am excited for it. WaniKani has given me the ability to read books, manga and games.
So from the bottom of my heart, Thank You!
Gosh I’m getting all emotional typing this now
@Nemuitanuki Next, I’ll just keep on doing what I have been doing. Reading, reading and more reading lol. Wanikani has been great to learn the Kanji but to actually remember them I read. That’s how I have managed to retain them.
@iPat When it comes to vocabulary not really, the last 10 levels of WaniKani for me I felt that there were not that many words that would be too useful to me but some were. The kanji however was the main thing. So many times I would learn something and then read it somewhere and I would go wow I can actually read that now! I study grammar and all outside of WaniKani but to give it some insight. Last year I couldn’t read a lot due to grammar. I struggled to read a book like Yotsuba. Now, I am working on Harry Potter and eventually Your Name, with the book club.
Congrats, I’m still in between finishing level 60 and finishing lessons but I imagine it feels incredible to have them all done! Best of luck with all your other studies! Are you planning on trying to burn everything?
Congrats to getting to level 60 too! I won’t be trying to burn everything. I’ll do it for a couple more months I think and then I’ll stop doing it. Or maybe less, I’m not sure yet. I just wish I didn’t pay for the year service again in December
That’s what I thought, too, about the last levels. Then, just one day after I have learned it (as the very last vocab in Wanikani), I came across 海藻 (seaweed) in a children’s tale on Columbus.
