I kept doing extra lessons and now its been ~2 days since I’ve had any lessons. I feel like I’m grasping it very well and want to move on and would love to know if there’s a way I can start my lessons again.
Welcome! You’re at the stage where you need to do reviews. You get more lessons by levelling the items you’ve already unlocked to Guru, and you reach Guru after four correct reviews.
Check out the WankKani FAQ to get the low down on how it all works.
Specific to your question, this section in the FAQ should answer your question.
The problem is now when I logged on today I have no reviews or lessons. I’m guessing I just have to wait for the spaced review and when I master the reviews ill be able to do more lessons but this is seriously slowing me down. Considering I’m a fast learner this is kind of annoying me.
Hey Koda!
WaniKani tends to start quite slow for most people. I’d say it’s something where you want to take your time as it’s a commitment you will need to maintain for a few years. Good luck for your studies!
As WK is built on SRS, the process will follow the SRS interval timings. Arguments about what the ideal or perfect intervals are (or whether WK uses the ideal timings) aside, for it to be effective one needs to wait a sufficient amount of time between each review. If I learn something new and them I am quizzed on it 4 times in the next 60 minutes, of course I am going to get the answer right, I have not had time to forget it (leave short time term memory) yet so I am not testing whether I really know it (long term memory) or not.
There are a variety of study methods available which are not SRS based and which may be more effective for some people.
I will leave you with a WK meme, albeit in purely text form.
Level 1 user’s first forum post: WK is too slow, how do I get more content faster?
About six months later, user’s second forum post: Help, reviews piling up and I am overwhelmed, how do I slow this thing down?
Hi @KodaOda and welcome!
I’ll second what @mgrice has said and linked. There is no way to manually force more lessons or speed up in WaniKani. While this can feel slow at first, most people tend to find the volume becomes more steady and comfortable after the first few levels. At that point, some people even slow down on WaniKani due to the number of reviews.
In a year you’ll wish you had less reviews I know it feels slow, please just give it a month or two. It picks up exponentially.
As others stated, please be patient. In no time you will have so many lessons and reviews, when you think about L1 - L5 you would think, "Ntasukashiiiiii! "
Enjoy the slowness and create a good foundation with small and steady increment.
And when later it is too much, keep doing steady and frequent reviews.

Throwing in my 2 cents as well since I had the same experience just a few weeks ago - it can be pretty frustrating at first if you’re eager to learn or catch up to existing knowledge, but this is a good time to just practice accessing WK twice a day at a relatively consistent time and building it into your schedule.
The first time I tried WK I didn’t establish a routine at all and quickly stopped using it because there was “nothing to do”. The second time around, until things picked up, I would just check the site and do some Extra Study to help establish that routine. It’s really only a week or two before you get to having much more consistent content available, and having that routine helps make sure you’re around to see it and keep learning.
