Basically, group stuff in lessons and review that are similar or related (when possible). For example, give 左 and 右 together since they have related meanings, and 日 with 白 because they look similar. (not the best examples but you get the idea)
I’m no expert, but the few data points from my own experience suggest that having them together helps differentiate between them.
Surely a userscript can do this.
