Google Translate Newer Features

There’s plenty of rhetoric we can dish out for Google Translate, but if you haven’t used it recently, you might want to revisit.

Exploring terms in the text has improved. Clicking on terms in the translation or source text will give you more detailed information below, including synonyms sorted by frequency.

I think these updates have been deployed for all users but I am enrolled in one of their Translation programs (I was curious) so if you don’t have these enhance features yet… but hopefully that’s not the case.

Ok, now to anticipate some of the obligatory Google Translate rhetoric

  1. New users should tend to take it with a grain of salt, as the saying goes, a little bit of knowledge can be dangerous.
  2. I’m the kind of person that enjoys using lots of tools, this is merely one of them

I highlighted bits with Snip and Sketch.

Highlighting here is used to emphasize how interacting with the terms in the top pane display detailed information in the bottom panes.
