We will be reading at our own pace and posting in this thread whenever we want to talk about something related to this VN. This is the final game in the series so there is no end date.

So I’ve had a look at it this week from my phone, but it’s too hard for me without any lookup :X
Will try again with a real reading session from my PC before starting the VN!

Also I will go blind this time, because I noticed that I am a bit l less engaged in games if I follow guides. Hopefully the story will be close enough to post comments. (And I’ll check out the guide eventually, probably will get stuck at some point 
)

This one is probably the hardest of all 4 to play without a guide 
But like you said, if you get stuck you can always check out the guide later on.
Looking forward to hearing your thoughts on the mini-episode from the pamphlet too!

Yeah I’m actually so bad at playing without a guide 
I always seem to pick up the route that you can’t unlock unless you have completed the other route. Happened to me both when I chose to go for the alternative route first (Rikka in Flowers Printemps) and both when I chose to go for the main interest first (Rinne in ISLAND)

Alright now the mood is set I guess 
I started the game first to have the music playing while I was reading the PDF, very nice!

いつも祈りへ来ている聖堂だというのに夜更けだというだけで空恐ろしく感じる。
蝋燭の火が頼りなく辺りを照らし、、柱の影や長椅子の死角に何者かが潜んでいるように思えた。神聖な場所である聖堂で恐れを抱くなんて不敬だとは分かっているけれど、風が建物を揺らし、ステンドグラスを叩く音を聴いていると物音ですら風音ではく、何か得体の知れない者の吐息のようにも思えた。
私は落ち着くために膝の上に手を置いた。そして指で膝がしらをリズムをとって叩く。友人が何かに真剣に向き合おうとする時の癖だ。幾度か指を動かすと彼女になった気がして臆病な心が失せていった。そう、私の大切なアミティエの愛らしい癖。
恐れが失せた私は、仄暗い聖堂の中、瞳をつぶリ彼女と出逢ったときを思う。
春、桜舞う木の下で彼女は私を惚けたように見上げていた。初めての出逢い。
そして、アミティエ同士となってーーーオリエンテーリングでは怪我をした私を見付け介抱してくれた。思えばあのときから心の中に友情以外の何かが芽生えていたのかもしれない。
互いに苦手なバレエの授業。教え合ったあの時間は掛け替えのないものだ。
えして、そしてーー
けれど、あの一聖母祭が私たちアミティエの仲を裂いてしまった。
私は．．．聖母役なんて望んでいなかったのに。聖母役に選ばれてからすべての歯車が狂ったかのように感じる。まるで何かに呪われたかのように。
頭を振り、邪な思いを消し去ろうとした。聖母様を悪しきもののように思うだなんて。
かぶりを振ったことで影が大きく揺れ、その影の中から何かが横切るのが視えた。
凝っと目を凝らし跳めると、それは青い蝶のようだった。蝶は何かを探すような頼りなく舞っていたけれどーー壁に吸い込まれるようにふっと消えてしまった。何処かの陰に隠れただけだと、錯覚だと思うも、何故だか服な予感が遠い雷雲のように胸の中に沸き起こった。
その予感は彼女は来ないでないがという疑念を抱かせた。
ようやくきちんと話せる場合を得たのに。
私は天上の主へと祈る。
≪どうか、愛しいアミティエともう一度だけ逢い語らうことをお赦しください≫と。

Finally, Winter Flowers time~
I am still unsure how I feel about about this game - there are several parts that got me very confused when I read it in English a couple years ago. I am hoping re-reading in japanese might bring some clarity
Prologue
We got an interesting combination here - starts with Mayuri, then continues the Extra scene from flowers 3 with Suoh, then Rikka narrates the intro for chapter 1.
Suoh’s thoughts about someone taking over Basquiat’s name to infiltrate the school as a teacher are fun, even if the idea is shot down immediately. I also found interesting how Suoh seems to imply that epitaphs are mostly a western thing - I didn’t realize it was uncommon in Japan.
I also looooooove the intro song Fairy Wreath and is probably my favorite song of the series. The different sections sang alternatively between Shimotsuki Haruka and Suzuyu feel like a conversation and give the song a special tone.

Yeah the artbook has an “extra” story for all of the characters and Yuzu’s goes over all of that. There’s a lot of other good ones too like in Chidori’s it talks about how she coached up Mayuri before the play swap that happens at the end of Hiver and how it was actually Rikka that suggested they do that. All of the extra stories in the book are really good, I just wish they would have put them all into the VN (or at least some of them since some of the stories do take place a good bit after Hiver ends)
Oh, there is also Flowers 20 if you haven’t seen that art book yet. It shows what all the main1st year students are up to now at age 20. Would love to see some of that adapted into a VN too

This ended up being a short chapter.
Chapter 3 thoughts
This chapter was short so there wasn’t a whole lot going on. I did enjoy the opening scene of this chapter with the CG of Suoh walking to school and greeting people. She just looks so cool.
There are a lot of scenes so far that really show just how out of it Suoh is. When Erika and the gang are talking about how Suoh has become more approachable now because she is out of it, its funny how that whole scene is unfolding right in front of Suoh without her noticing. The game is from her PoV so its all happening within earshot of her but I guess since she’s so preoccupied she isn’t registering it. But the funniest thing is that Erika is just explaining why Suoh and Yuzu are so attractive right in front of her like its the most natural thing in the world and the rest of the gang is taking it all in so seriously
It was fun to get some more callbacks this chapter. Them going through the orientation thing and ending it with the dance was cute.
The birthday scene is great too. I like how hard Chidori was trying to be nice about Ichigo’s gift. Wish we could have saw her wear the frog hat.
