I’m not an English native speaker but I can undestand English, but… Memotecnics in another language are quite difficult :=(
An empty wanikani withouth the “official” translation or being able to change the “official traslation” will be good enough for me.
I want to rename for example “天 Heaven” with “天 Cielo” or “旧 Olden times” with “旧 Antiguedad” It’s quite difficult typing the meaning in other language and remember the English words Like “Enclosure” or “Lid”.
I learned British English, but a lot of words found here are in American English.
You can already add your own notes to replace the mnemonics and add synonyms that will be accepted as an answer. Is that what you are asking for?
Edit: and as a non native speaker myself I have to say that I also struggle with the english meanings sometimes which is why I use the Anki mode script. That way, I just have to press a button to say if I got something right or not. You do of course have to be able to trust yourself with things like that, it might not work well for everyone. But I enjoy this much more than having to add tons of synonyms.
Otherwise, if you don’t care about radicals OR mnemonics, you might be better off finding an Anki deck (perhaps even in your native language) to suit your needs.
*It seems that the people behind WaniKani have been working on a radical/mnemonic rewrite for a while.When it’s done, maybe things’ll be a tad easier for non-English speakers? I’m not too sure, but it’s something to look out for.

It’s available in the review mode? The problem is when the review mode say … “type the meaning” And I only remember the Spanish one not the english translation .
So add the Spanish meaning as a synonym. Then you can answer with the Spanish meaning every time. It might be annoying that you have to wait until after the lesson to do it, but I feel like it should work for you.
If what you want to do is basically set all your own definitions and mnemonics, then Wanikani doesn’t have that feature and if I’m being honest, probably isn’t worth you paying for. One of the major benefits of the tool is IMO the pre-made and consistent mnemonics, and without that you may as well just start customising your own Anki deck and probably get the same value.
If there were any feature Wanikani should be looking into here, it should probably be in producing official localisations of the site into various languages available to anyone to choose by accepting community-submitted mnemonics and meanings.
Plenty of people use WK without really reading the mnemonics at all. To me, the thing that made WK effective was the pacing and unlocking of items. It’s not easy to decide what pace you should be adding new items at on most flashcard systems, and as a result I think the general tendency is for people to just go nuts and burn out.
Maybe it’s possible to have Anki do the “radicals > kanji > vocab by level” unlocking system of WK, but that doesn’t sound like a beginner’s level Anki system to set up.
