First in the morning at least around 12hr before bed.
Second at least about 4 hours before bed.
I do it at those time so I get to do the reviews before bed time. And I definitely make sure I dont have review coming up, lets say, 1 hr after bed time, so I don’t feel pressured to sleep later to do it.
For review, I tend to do Apprentice items as soon as they come up. Guru+ items I do it whenever I feel like it, but I try to not leave any reviews overnight cause it can pile up fast.
If possible, I also do most of the reviews at work, so I can use my leisure time to actually rest and not burn out. Kinda tough when I do it this fast tho.
At fast pace, although I end up going slower (8/10 days) so not “max fast pace”, I noticed that to me, the reviews are fine, it’s doing 15+ lessons everyday that is tiring me..
Oh yeah its definitely tiring. But I got used to it in a way. At fast levels, I have to do about 30 lessons a day. I do it in 2 batches of 15 lessons per day. Just have to find the time to do it and make it a habit.
Speaking of which, I just got to lv 59. This is the last level I have any (self imposed) time constrain to do the lessons and reviews. On lv60 there is no more level up, so maybe I will take a year or so doing lessons haha.
Wanting to post my chart, but there is only 1 more update to it left. I might as well post when I get to lv 60. So see you in like 4 days xD
Forgot to post it here. This was about a week ago, when I reached Lv60.
I’m still going through Lv60’s new items atm, and the review counts still high. But it does feel nice to know I’m at the end of WK.
Speaking from my recent experience, it took quite a while for my review count to actually really drop off. Even 2-3 weeks after Guru’ing everything in lvl60, I was still at ~200 reviews a day. Now at about 2 months later, I’m down to around typically 120 which I’m usually just doing once a day in the mornings. My accuracy on these enlightened terms now in the mid to late lvl30s that I haven’t seen in months is quite shoddy and my guru item count has stayed stubbornly around 600. I suspect I won’t be under 60 reviews a day on average for quite a long while.
Thanks. Its been a week for me and im doing about 200 per day and having 300 in the review pile atm. I think I will take it easy and wont do too much over 200 a day, and just let the review pile go away slowly on its own.
My accuracy on the enlightened words that I dont see often aren’t great also lol. But I’m not sure how much I care if I don’t see them that often.
I will finished all Lv60 lessons today, then do the reviews each day still. But I want to refocus my effort on reading practice and more grammar study.
After 2 years, I finally passed level 18. Living in Japan but I almost totally gave up wanikani after starting work, so it took that much time to burn through most of my reviews. Started picking up the pace again a few months ago and now starting new lessons again.
Been learning seriously since February but signed up for Wani Kani about a year ago and just goofed around a bit to see what would stick - turns out a lot! Currently in fourth year Japanese, and it’s been so much fun seeing all of the grammatical and lexical connections between Japanese and Korean. It’s like a puzzle that keeps changing every day, and there’s always something new to try out!
Not good, but not catastrophic. I won’t make it to 30 before New Year’s as I intended but I won’t be super late either. Finishing before 2027 is still possible.
Level 45 should be the start of the express levels, but life happened, it’s been more than 90 days for me now. Haha
My plan was not to take the express levels too fast and to take them easier than the previous levels, like only 2-5 kanji per day, but definitely not more than 90 days.
I will upload the level up chart here once I got to L46 or L47.
