I’m pretty much the same, I need to consolidate grammar before assimilating it, but I do it reading (and reading manga is good for this, especially with the Absolute Beginner Book Club 
I can’t stand too much SRS, it annoys me and even gives me anxiety 
I can totally relate… A lot of courage for your 5 other oral examinations 
And I second @taiyousea here, you seem to have found a good pace for learning japanese in your actual life and it’s the most important !
