Shirobako
Natively: Level 33
Summary
Aoi Miyamori and her friends from her high school anime club have recently entered the world of real anime production at Musashino Animation. This workplace comedy mixes a wide and interesting cast with some surprisingly honest reflections of the anime industry work culture and gives some insight into what it takes to make your favourite shows while still being entertaining throughout.

Personal Opinion
This is one of my favourite anime, and I do think the high rating might be a little overdoing it since the anime does explain itself quite often. I really enjoyed the references to the anime industry, and also the adult and more grounded cast makes for a nice change too.
Pros and Cons
Pros
- Fun workplace comedy
- A ton of anime industry references
- The cast and setting is relatively closer to reality 90% of the time.
Neutral
- It mostly doesn’t actually assume anime production knowledge, so while there’s going to be a lot of specialised vocab, it doesn’t assume the Japanese audience knows these either and explains them (and a decent number are English loan words)
Cons
- It is level 33, so harder again than ダンジョン飯
- There are like 100 characters (it does give documentary style name tags for everyone’s first few appearances and if they haven’t been on screen for a while)
