there is this long running meme saying that “Linux is free if you don’t value your time”, and yesterday and today I witnessed exactly that happening
did you know I needed to write a 62 line bash script as a launch parameter for Steam to be able to, yes, you didn’t hear this wrong, BE ABLE TO RUN TWO APPLICATIONS AT THE SAME TIME (IN THE SAME PROTON WINEPREFIX)
took me something like 6 hours to get this running, for no other reason than self-hatred and love of the hacker game, but there it is…
one eternity later, I finally have texthooker on Steam Deck 
Also, I tried reading some Kaguya-sama, that on the other hand was a very easy script: mokuro.moe only had the .mokuro files and not the .html files, and Jidoujisho only supports .html files, so 50 lines of Python code later, I had a working .mokuro → .html converter and I was able to read some of it
…and let me tell you, I did NOT expect for the jump in difficulty to be this significant xdd
Every second word you highlight on Mokuro has a rating of being the 30.000-60.000th most popular word in Japanese, and even the words that have meanings and readings you already know use a rare reading and an auxilary meaning to, I was reading this and going like
the whole chapter xddd
And yeah, Jelly Jelly Radio, passive listening again, I’m catching some things, but definitely not everything, so it’ll be a little longer ^^

I caught a Palestinian demo in my district today, for some reason it felt like there were more police officers than the actual protesters, but that’s because the police is everywhere for those. People walking in those parades have pretty mixed feelings about police being present (and almost every one of those I see, I see at least one person being arrested), but hey, maybe they help with security ^^
Also, coolstory, Ritter Sport towers in Germany!
In every bigger German city, at the main station, there is one of those chocolate towers (17 in total?), and you can travel to different cities and see if you can see all of those, last I remember, I saw something like 10, though I deprioritized this adventure from being significant xddd
Anyway, it’s pretty late today too, so I’m jumping off and regular work tomorrow ^^
and I know that it’s something that becomes really old really fast if you move over, but I hope that even with the ordinary pictures I send sometimes, there are people that go like “huh, that’s so cool”, even if I forgot that those things were supposed to be cool xddd
