Finally made it to the 50’s backet!
Being able to read with less lookups is great, but feeling so guilty when I don’t recognize an already burned kanji ![]()

should’ve waited two hours ![]()
At long last level 29!
I decided to slow way down and not learn anything new, in hopes of having fewer reviews, but it didn’t really work. The number of reviews didn’t go down too much and I found it demotivating not having any new vocab coming in. So, the new-new plan is to try for 10-14 days per level. Slower than the 7 days I was at before, but a lot faster than the 51 days I spent at level 28.
Go hotdog go!!
GIMME AN H
GIMME AN O
GIMME A TDOG
Sure you will - just keep moving your average days per level up, and then it will be possible to get one below it!
Seriously though, I’m struggling with leeches on Level 36 and it’s my intention to slow down and study them, to clear them out. The number of reviews I’ve done on the items that didn’t stick is shocking ![]()
I’m not so stressed about it but I need to sort it out.
Level 30! I’ll not get to level 60 by next summer, but maybe 45 or 50? We’ll see!
That’s my plan now too. I think I’ll stay on level 30 for a while to get my Apprentice count down. Hopefully then I’ll be able to speed up again. As long as we keep going, and don’t reset, we’ll get there eventually!
That ‘summer 2026’ deadline is starting to look a lot closer than it did when I joined the thread ![]()
Yup! And in the beginning it was easy to do 10 lessons per day. 9000 lessons, 900 days, easy peasy. Now? Not as much!
I have 4469 lessons left, and 377 days until the deadline June 12, 2026. More than 10 lessons per day the next year? Sorry, no can do! I will get there, eventually, but I don’t plan to crash and burn on the way…
On the other hand, I’m trying to speed up, since I’ve spent about 2 years getting to L30 (will level up in a few days if I don’t miss my reviews). 2 more years for 60 seems long but 1 more year seems ok ![]()
Don’t look too far ahead. Take it step by step. Being steady and consistent ftw.
