I’m starting my session now.
Continuing directly from the winter readathon previously read content.
The goal is to progress through the chapter 2 of ひぐらしのなく頃に
I’m still in the recovery phase of a four months hiatus so I’ll be pushing for time and enjoyment without pressure !

Started my 24 hours around 6pm my time. It’s been an absolute bonkers day of getting to know a 3 month old puppy, but I’m officially completely best buds with this dog lol.
Anyway, I’ve gotten about 2 hours in to my first yuri and everyone else has gone to bed, so I’m going to try to keep at it as long as I can tonight. I think I’ll have a better handle on dog chaos tomorrow, so hopefully I can get a good bit of reading in.
Anyway, I’ve started with my most text dense series, which is maybe not the most tactical move for getting 2 volumes completed, but we’ll see. I’m just gonna keep reading and not worry about that.

Read for another hour after “nap”, then got sleepy around 6am so went to bed. Woke up now, currently 10:30. Lots of sleep in total (which is good because I’ve had little of it recently). There’s still 10-11h left until done readathon.
Morning all 
that’s me done after a mini session. Read the first chapter of yotsuba& with an iced coffee - I think this is a series I am going to enjoy. Beautiful drawings, felt like being in Japan.
Final result:
Do this week’s chapter of the 帰命寺横丁の夏 book club - 1hr / 3.8k chars
Continue with かがみの孤城 - 1hr / 5k chars
Read a bit of manga - either Shirokuma cafe or Yotsuba - 35 mins / 50 pages
Total - 2hr 35 mins, 8.8k chars, 50 pages

Read for another 50 minutes, another 22 pages down for 33 pages in total! 
Spent an hour on the phone with my dad just chatting.
It’s just after 10am and I’m taking a small break… A lot happening in Witch Hat Atelier 
嘘喰い 1 pg.120-206 in 50 min. End volume. Patchy time count in the beginning, so estimated.
About 2:30 in ~8k chars,
Finished two scenes of the 2nd day (the ‘village stroll’ and ‘lunch at the temple’)
and starting the final scene of the chapter maybe ?
The first scene was pretty good and enjoyable.
The second a bit lengthy, in general I find scenes with lot of actions and back and forth between Keiichi and Satoko quite harder to follow than the more quiet descriptive scenes. I’m having more and more content I haven’t reviewed for a few months and while I can follow the action it’s a lot less clear than the content I’m familiar with.
I’m also under the impression that a lot more kanjis have been swapped for these parts (I prepare on the novelization and there’s a few differences here and there). But maybe I’m just misremembering them and they are in my 700 remaining reviews…
Pretty stoked for the next scene because it’s kinda the trigger for the ‘real’ Higurashi.

i’m not feeling it too much, but i opened a light novel anyhow (サイレント・ヴィッチ４)
started at around midday and i’ll read until probably midnight
continuing はなにあらし１. Read from page 52 to 67 in 62 mins. I went slow in the 5th chapter as it was absolutely hilarious and I was rolling around in genuine laughter cause I could finally understand it…meow is happy 
I am now debating on whether I should play scarlet nexus or should I just continue the manga reading…the game will easily eat 2-3 hours but will leave me momentarily useless afterwards as Its some serious brain melting resource 
learned a new word today…cause our なのは is repeating it many times inside her head 
Well I plan to finish the first volume today so there is a teeny-tiny chance that I may get to start the 2nd one

I’ve started my readathon at about 2026-06-21T07:00:00Z with a few goals in mind:
Immediately went into Nausicaä and I did finish volume 3! I had only read the first 13 pages of it before the readathon

Ha, I successfully overslept. After waking up, I only had 15 minutes left in which I started reading some 獣の奏者. I did finish the chapter after the fact, but only managed 3 whole pages in the 15 minutes left for the challenge.
Therefore my results look like this

Which means I didn’t reach my goal of 5h reading. I’m not too sad about it since I still managed to mostly read what I wanted to read during the challenge.
The thing that makes me happy is that I went from ~13p/h to now ~18p/h with material roughly equal in difficulty which means I read ~40% faster than in december
another 15 min of focusing, comic con really kicked my ass 
, but another 2000 ish characters have been read.
Another update!
After another 45 minutes, I’ve finished Vol.4 of Witch Hat Atelier!
I’m kinda shook. The anime will end on a huge cliff-hanger tomorrow.
Didn’t expect to get through it that quickly, but now I can move on to Frieren Vol.2 as I originally intended!
First though, I have Wanikani and Marumori reviews to do, and a small (like 4 pages) short story about the フデムシ to read at the back of Vol.4. Then lunch!

Read for another 1hr22min to get another 38 pages in. That puts me at 79 pages in 3.5 hours, which is about half of my main goal. I’m starting to get sleepy so I think I might call it for the night. If I can manage the chaos tomorrow I’ll be much fresher to take on the last 2 chapters of this series.

I beat my goal (read more than 2h22m) with a few hours. Total reading time was 9h16m, with 161 children’s novel pages and 262 manga pages from 3? 4? different sources (does the same series counts as one? I feel so? not sure 
)
This is the longest I have managed to read in continuation I think (not remembering if I read more on Naruto days but don’t think so), and I did not get tired / headache from prose reading which I have gotten before! The next Readaton I am not going to make beating this time a goal
