generally just daily reviews!
and then when i find my review percentages are 80+% or when i feel like i understand all of the grammar (even if i get it wrong) coming up in reviews, i’ll do a few lessons from the JLPT grammar decks. it’s super important for me to take it slow and not rush doing lessons if there are still grammar points in my reviews that i find confusing or else they’ll all just pile up and becoming really unappealing to do:
Thanks! Yep, I agree, from my experience and from reading others’, it’s very important to find the right balance, keep moving forward but not too fast or it’s the burn out! Good luck on any case, seems like you’re on track!!

N4: 4 wrong
N3: 7 wrong
All in all, I think I find the test format itself quite hard! Core lessons to take away: i’m still VERY slow at reading and i find the listening questions make me confused haha so I gotta keep practicing with actual tests!
Okay! Fell into another slump with reviews as I did a lil bit of travelling and was busy at work

次, 漢字!
一時間後で１６０漢字を見直した. ７８％！休みたい。。。
たくさん漢字があるから、漢字を見直さないと！最近ワニカニを使わない。。。日本語を読むのが下手ようになっている！それで今すぐ見直す！！

今週は忙しくないと考えた, それでもまだ日本語を勉強しなかった.
JLPT試験のために勉強しないといけない！試験は３週間にある。とても近い！！！
私は ゴミです 
でも、少し勉強は何もないより良一んだから今日インタネットで模擬試験*をしてみたい
(*looked up 模擬試験 - had a feeling it’d use 模 which i learnt last week! exciting! and nice because the も sound is like “mock” in mock exam)
after just under 500 reviews done including 49 burned, i finally get to see my old friend (at this point a 知らない人) mr.0-reviews
still after 2 years of WK, i get use 使, history 史, and convenience 便 mixed up! tricky stuff - should probably make some micro mnemonics
久しぶり haha
今日417漢字を見直したり、文法を見直したり、日本語練習本を読んだり、たくさんコーヒーをの飲むつもりです。
予定です。。。
昨日面白い単語を習いました。くちばしは a bird’s beak! とても覚えやすい！口と橋のように聞こえるから！この単語を習う時、日本語が好き理由は覚えました。
少しも勉強しないだから、この勉強日記に日本語を書いてみたい。でも、誰でもは失態を見たら、私に改正を言ってくれてください！にほんごを良くてなりたいんです

One week left til the test! Yesterday I did my (probably) one and only practice test I’ll do - it went averagely - I’m a little confused about how many questions there’ll be in the test as it felt like my practice test was a bit short but anyhow…
Today I’m going through my wrong answers - most of the time I have a “Of course!!” moment haha then I might do some wanikani and bunpro
Well… it’s been a while.
I took a massive break from studying japanese. My worklife has been so busy the last month that if I were to add japanese to things, I would have burnt myself out to a ridiculous degree (more so than i already am aha). And now, here we are. 728 reviews on WK, 208 reviews on bunpro, and a huge feeling of disconnect to japanese. I feel like I don’t remember a thing.
compared to the beginning of the year, progress is slow slow slow. I’m on day 102 of being on level 26…
when i’m so tired from my job, it’s really hard to feel enthusiastic about learning japanese. i don’t have the motivation and joy anymore.
i’m travelling back home for the christmas break so i’m hoping that will recharge me. and weirdly, distance from japan might make me want to study japanese again.
just did 16 reviews haha. i’ll do some more tomorrow. baby steps.
16 is more than nothing! When I find that my brain is just super 
I don’t try to push for big amounts, I’ll just try to do a teeny handful that feels manageable. Even if that’s only 5 reviews, it’s still something.

yeah i think i forgot to see the value in just showing up! “What use will doing 1 review a day be? Would I be doing that just to protect my ego/streak?” No! Doing 1 review a day is valuable because it means you’re not forgetting the hobby! Reminding yourself that this is a thing you want to be a part of your life! So that hopefully on a less busy day you can do that 1 review and then a few extra too!

Yep! Sure, maybe you’re “protecting a streak”, but you’re also keeping yourself in the habit. Habits are hard to build and often hard to maintain, so even if you can only put in a little bit of energy, putting that energy towards keeping the habit going does a lot of good.
And huzzah! Another 16!
3rd day of the tentative streak! but today i sat in a cafe and had a good long review session: 121 reviews with 70% accuracy (and that’s with my typo add-on not working for some reason so some mistakes were writing a different word than WK wants, like “youth” for “juvenile” ) … still have 641 reviews to do but i’m really happy to have done as many as i did today!
with a few more of these sessions, i have a feeling i could be down to a manageable size of daily reviews by the new year
day 4 ! down to 507 reviews !
spent a good while this weekend reflecting on what i want my japanese study goals to be in the new year :> some interesting conclusions…
but for the rest of december i’m gonna try n just keep doing these reviews
