Was Jourm on vacation when this mnemonic was written? Not that I have anything against Joe, but I think he’s kinda hogging the spotlight of the real star of the show here.

I think Jourm wasn’t a thing back then. じょう used to be Joseph Stalin, if I remember correctly (I may be misremembering though). Just send a mail to hello@wanikani.com and they’ll address it one way or another.
