potential profit, desire to signal ‘premium’ price point, author pick, take your pick. in this case i suspect the green tinting throughout might play a part
It’s probably called Kanzenban (because of the other premium features, i.e., colour), although Kanzenban doesn’t have to be A5 size. I have Slam Dunk Kanzenban and it is A5 (it’s a lovely size for reading manga with any furigana). I found this:
" A kanzenban release is generally A5 size" from Wikipedia’s Tankobon page
Doesn’t 完全版 imply there is another, less complete / feature filled version? In this case there is only one version.
Yes you’re right, it does! I didn’t realise there wasn’t a B&W for this one!
Week 3 is up!
Speaking as a Digimon fan, 完全版 definitely implies a 成熟版 below, and a 究極版 above.
Wait. The green is supposed to be a bonus?
Week 4 thread has been posted!
Hey! I’m not in this bookclub, but is this book very queer? I might read it if so
Well, it’s a story about two girls becoming a couple (at least that’s where it’s clearly heading, but we’re still in the awkhard sexual attraction stage). Even if for some reason that’s not queer enough for your standards, just read it. It’s a genre I usually stay away from, but the art and storytelling is great and I haven’t regretted it for a minute.
This sounds great!! Not to be annoying, I am super new here., What level is “beginner” roughly? Like n4? or is it just N5+ ?
Beginner book club is targeting N4. So if you’re N4 you should expect to be able to read this with effort.
Week 5 thread is up!
If you’re enjoying reading along with 気になってる人が男じゃなかった and are interested in voting for what the next choice of book will be after completing it, the beginner book club book 33 poll is now starting and runs for one week until March 9th.
Here we go week 7
Week 8 thread is up
Gauging interest in a volume 2 reading group:
- Definitely want to read vol 2 with a reading group
- Maybe want to read vol 2 with a reading group
- I’ve already read/reading vol 2 on my own but will join discussion
- Likely to read vol 2 but on my own
- Not planning to read vol 2
- Not sure
- Something else
I’m planning to read:
- Already purchased physical
- Already purchased digital
- Planning to purchase physical
- Planning to purchase digital
- Will read on X/Twitter
- Not sure
Timing of a bookclub
- Keen to read as soon as possible after vol 1
- I’ll need time for a physical copy to arrive
- I’d be interested in waiting til I can buy vol 2 in a digital sale
- I’ve already read vol 2 so I don’t mind
- Don’t mind, I’ll join in whenever
- Could do with a break before vol 2 for some other reason
- Something else
Week 9 thread up a bit early
Looking at those polls there’s a clear outcome for us to have a volume 2 reading group, and everyone who wants to read with the group looks happy to carry on without a significant break.
Looking at a schedule for volume 2. Assuming we read at the same pace of around 20 pages a week unless someone wants to make the case for a faster speed. That would be 3 weeks for chapter 4, and 2 weeks each for chapters 5 and 6.
I haven’t got the book yet so I can only see the contents page from the preview. Can someone tell me how many pages of content there are in “Album Book” please.
If we go straight to volume 2 without a break we will start volume 2 on April 13th. Is everyone happy with that?
- Yes, happy to start on April 13th
- No, can we have a week break and start on April 20th
