Lots of plans and illustrations throughout.
I don’t intend to start reading it just yet because I have a rather large backlog but when I do I’ll post here to see if there’s interest for an informal club.
I’m in the same position with a backlog, but I would be interested in reading part 2 with a group too. Part 2 appears to have good reviews on Amazon. I kind of miss Kurihara… 
Same, I’m busy with a lot of book clubs/books at the moment, but I really enjoyed the first book and would definitely participate if there was interest in an informal club for the second one.

Late to the party, but wanted to say to anyone who enjoyed the format of 変な家 but was let down by the ending, I strongly recommend 変な家2!
I picked it up a few months ago and was obsessively reading it in all of my free time until I finished it. It is linger than the first book, but since it is broken down with different chapters with their own 間取り to solve it is much faster paced, and also sprinkles the storyline throughout instead of having a big explanation at the end that feels like it comes out of nowhere.
