保守主義 different pronunciation?

In Wanikani i checked the male and female voice for the word. The pronunciation is quite different
The female voice is pronouncing it like ほ…しゅしゅぎ
and the male voice ほしゅ…しゅぎ

I wonder is it a individual preference or a female/male preference?

I can only find it with one listed pitch, so I’d assume it’s a quirk of the speaker and how they pronounce it.

I am not sure if its related to gender. I haven’t seen much about it, but I don’t remember different pronounciations for different genders

To me it sounds more like Kenichi is devoicing the first しゅ while Keiko isn’t devoicing it.

Presumably they’re both valid.

A bit like how they have different pronounciations of the g- sounds?

Similar I guess in that they are different but both possible pronunciations. But I think someone who doesn’t use that kind of が will probably never use it. While someone who doesn’t use a devoiced しゅ here might still devoice it in other words. So they’re not similar in that regard.

Makes sense to me. Vocalization terms always escape me, so its nice to get a clearer answer

probably a male/female difference for speech habits

It’s possible it’s just a “two different people” difference as well.
