Oh right, it’s usual protocol to post these here. That’s what I managed to forget! It’s ok, time is weird here
This is something a bit odd that I just realized, but I think the reason why I’ve found Loopers so much so far is because it has very little infodump style exposition (at least in the first four chapters that I’ve read so far). It’s very beginner friendly because of that. In contrast I just started another game in Japanese that is killing me with random 陰陽師 terminology and backstory. I know it’s pretty common advice to start with slice of life for these reasons, but it just never really hit me until now.
I feel like a lot of us went into Loopers blind and we’ve been pretty lucky with the subject matter, but I think I’ll probably do a lot more prep whenever we get to the next game.
Edit: 13.5k characters of introduction and I finally got to the battle tutorial. I might have picked the wrong game, lol
Slice of Life is… well… life!
As you’ll see in this thread, busy life events have my choosing between posting early or making you all wait, so here’s week 6’s thread.
Here we go again
Literally just finished week 7, and here comes week 8, nice timing xD
While I’m so behind by now.
And it’s the stretch of some of the longest chapters we’ve had
I believe, but no worries if you need to give up on catching up, either. We’ll still mostly be around if you wanna post late or anything!
My plan is currently get caught up with 夜カフェ２ because it is just so easy to read (so take no time at all). I should be there by the end of today, although the next chapter is about to start, so maybe tomorrow.
Then Orange because I’m running that club.
And Loopers last. Mostly because I know it will take the longest to catch up.
Wish me luck and energy!
You can do it! Go go, MissDagger!
I’m also a bit behind this time, have almost the entire chapter 7 pending but hopefully I can finish both 7 and 8 by next Friday ish. Supposing we don’t get an even longer one, that is .
You’ve both got this!
Yeah I think the main thing we’re just learning here is that variable length chapters (especially without much forewarning) are a pain for people, but that’s no surprise, heh. It’s difficult to do much about that, though.
What I can say is I had to stop reading today at ~4900 characters and it wasn’t over but it feels like there’s not a ton left. Hopefully I’m right about that. And, relatively speaking, this chapter has been fairly easy, in my opinion.
Maybe it could help to look at the youtube playlist? So far, each week = one part.
|Week||Approx Character Count||Length (YT ver.)|
|Week 7||10 000||35:51|
Oh right, that totally slipped my mind, thanks! Well one piece of good news is that up until a bit at the end, they don’t get as long as week 7. Though it is in 20 parts on Youtube so there’s some sort of discrepancy in how they’re split, eventually.
Seems like I’m not the only one behind - I’m still in the middle of week 6, and looking at that week 7 monster…
(Really looking forward to get back into it tho.)
Thanks to @Redglare 's helpful idea, I put up a poll in this week’s thread to see if others would like to have a bit of a catch-up period. Linking it here to help catch people’s attention: ルーパーズ ♾ Chapter 9 (Visual Novel Book Club) - #7 by Daisoujou
Tagged everyone I know has mentioned falling behind, plus I know ccookf was last heard from remarking about how long 7 was haha.
I’ve just been a bit frazzled from work. We’re in the middle of a release so I’ll probably be lagging a bit until the end of the month.
Totally understandable, best of luck riding it out!
