Welcome to the マスカレード Series Book Club! It is a series of detective novels written by HIGASHINO Keigo 東野 圭吾.
We started reading the first volume in the Advanced Book Club and are now continuing the series as a Spin-Off.

Unfortunately these books are not available as ebooks (last I’ve checked) so in order to join, you need to get a physical copy. (If you are interested in joining and have problems getting a copy, you could always let us know, I know I am willing to give over my copy of the books I’m done reading, maybe others are too :slight_smile: )

Book 1: マスカレード・ホテル, 2011, has been read by the Advanced Book Club.

I’ll create the thread for マスカレード・イブ later today so we can discuss start date, schedule and so on. :slight_smile:
I’m thinking start date middle of August (one year exactly after マスカレード・ホテル), and loose schedule, but I’m open for ideas!

Have you seen that a 5th volume is coming out this summer? I found out yesterday when I made the thread! Exciting!

I knew it would be released this summer because there was a mention of it on the paper band on my paperback copy of マスカレード・ゲーム. But you beat me to the cover !

Yes, yes I did ! And enjoyed it a lot. I just hit a point IRL with work and everything when I didn’t have time to comment….

But I’m up for a new book !

I see that the next book is shorter thankfully! (Did like the last one but it was just too long)

I’d be up for the next one at some point soon, maybe in August-ish. Though I don’t mind starting a bit after you two

I made a thread! :slight_smile: already the 4th book, that’s the longest (and only) series I’ve read in Japanese xD
Also I haven’t bought book 5 yet, maybe I should look into it!

After learning of 東野圭吾’s passing :cry:, I really wanted to read a book of his and was waffling between masquerade night and 白夜行. Glad I checked here before I started the other mammoth one. I may actually have a chance of joining you for the 4th book!

Oh no, such sad news :frowning: he was so young, I was thinking that this series would go on forever! Damn, this hits hard somehow.
Happy that you’ll be joining us for reading the book though.
