Discussion Guidelines

Spoiler Courtesy

Please follow these rules to avoid inadvertent spoilers. Some folks are reading JoJo for the first time and have never watched the anime either. If you’re unsure whether something should have a spoiler tag, err on the side of using one.

  1. Any potential spoiler for the current week’s reading need only be covered by a spoiler tag. Predictions and conjecture made by somebody who has not read ahead still falls into this category.

  2. Any potential spoilers for external sources need to be covered by a spoiler tag and include a label (outside of the spoiler tag) of what might be spoiled. These include but are not limited to: other book club picks, other books, games, movies, anime, etc. I recommend also tagging the severity of the spoiler (for example, I may still look at minor spoilers for something that I don’t intend to read soon).

  3. Any information from later in the volume or series than the current week’s reading (including trigger warnings that haven’t yet manifested) needs to be hidden by spoiler tags and labeled as coming from later sections. For other Parts, please label the Part before the spoiler, for example “Well we know 2 [character] survives because they’re in a later Part”

In the case of “Hide Details”, the section in the brackets that is labeled “Summary” can be replaced with whatever you like also (i.e, [details=”Chapter 1, Pg. 1”]).

I wouldn’t call this a music recommendation since I don’t like Lisa Lisa and Cult Jam (I much prefer the character), but here’s a Lisa Lisa song

Enter Lisa Lisa! She looks fabulous from her first appearance, unlike Ceasar who still doesn’t seem to have a consistent design. I agree, that song isn’t really for me either

Small spoiler for the rest of part 2: It’s funny how Lisa Lisa is presented as this super powerful hamon user and Joseph as a fool for not taking her seriously just because she is a woman, when later she just gets jobbed in every fight she is in. Araki kinda ruined the message in this one

Comparing the “inventive solution” Joseph had this week to the barrier to the wacky solutions that characters come up with later on in the series is pretty funny

Time wise, I think that’s the quickest I’ve ever done the vocab and questions for a chapter. It took maybe an hour and a half? Usually it’s 2-3 hours due to look-ups and checking if they’re already in the lists
