Haha, not me. I thought I did, but luckily I double-checked, and I actually stopped at the end of 155. I was about to post story comments too early
155 is ahead of where we are now, but it’s weird to stop at a half point in the readings right? I may as well read 156, so that I’m exactly 1 week ahead
I voted to keep the current pace, but one question now I think about it is, how frequently are volumes published? My impression is quite often. If slowing down will keep us at the published rate (roughly), it’s probably a good option.
So, 5 months, then 3 months, then 4 months. Volume 14 had 11 chapters, and Volume 15 has 10. So, it seems like even if we slowed down to 1 chapter per week, we would eventually catch up and have to wait between volumes. We would barely have to wait if they published every 3 months consistently, but that doesn’t seem to be the case.
Patrick complimenting Kate’s noble spirit in the last chapter of the previous volume, only for Anthony to convince her to participate in such a terrible lie in this reading hit really hard This seals it for me. I definitely consider him to be another villain at this point, even though he opposes Shadow House. Involving Kate in that lie is probably a way to get her hands dirty, so that she loses the moral high ground when he wants to convince her to do other messed up stuff in the future.
Also, boy was it hard to stop reading! Someone’s getting the お迎え
Oh well, I never liked him anyway. But I found the 3rd floor conversation a little confusing. I got the reason Tomas was killed and also the fact that it seems that they replace an adult who has died with a new one. But who actually killed Tomas? Edward? Group effort? And I didn’t get the discussion about Tomas’ 2nd floor associates.
Also I didn’t quite stop reading - skimmed ahead a few pages. Would probably continue but I have to go to work soon.
The butterfly lady is wiping her mouth, so I think she ate Thomas’ arm. Also, he was still moving. I don’t think he’s actually dead.
What they were saying is that since Thomas got all the second floor adults on their side, they had all coordinated beforehand to get their stories straight. But I guess Edward got the shadows outside the house on his side, so they vouched for his version of events, although I’m less sure about that part.
I know! I ended up reading ahead the next 2 chapters then managed to stop again. I’d be surprised if this volume doesn’t end on a cliffhanger. So I’m torn between trying to be patient and just finishing the volume and waiting for the next one, which is out soon at least.
