My version is about the same size as konbini, but twice as thick.

Do you mean kiki? I compared it with 1Q84 and SAO, and it’s the same as 1Q84, and a bit bigger than SAO. So about standard size, I’d guess.
If you mean コンビニ人間, it’s got about the same size font as my copy of Harry Potter, but also one hundred fewer pages than the first volume - i.e. half the first book - so it’s definitely a much shorter story.

I meant Konbini Ningen vs Kiki 2 - counting by Kindle Locs, Konbini is 1675 and Kiki 1 is 2219. Longer, but not 2x longer.
So I was wondering if Kiki 2 is simply longer than Kiki 1 or if they are using a bigger font for it because it is a kids book. But since it doesn’t seem larger than 1Q84/SAO, I guess it’s just that long.

I was thinking it might be that the pages were thicker - but comparing konbinis 170 ish pages to kiki’s 350 ish pages comes out to about the same too.
I’ll probably be comparing characters per line when I’m back home after Christmas. 
Of the three SAO does have slightly smaller/thinner font, and one more line per page.

For those of you who have already read or are reading this, about how many words per page are you looking up? I feel like I’m doing this quite a bit, and am wondering how un-上手 I actually am.
For anyone who does not yet have a copy and buys their books on Amazon Kindle, コンビニ人間 is currently on “sale” with 50% points back.

Do I need to configure my Amazon account somehow before I’m allowed to purchase kindle books from Amazon Japan?
You need to set up a different account for Amazon Japan, unfortunately.

I’m so looking forward to this. I’ve started reading already to get an idea what I’m dealing with exactly. I have so many questions on grammar and general meaning (some day I’m gonna enjoy those loooooooooooong confusing sentences) and been looking through old threads for precious knowledge and wisdom.
