I… didn’t even think about how that was how she knew that Felix is going to be there. That makes a lot of sense.
数秒後、上空から二つの人影が降ってきた──地面に突き刺さるような勢いで、グルグルと回転しながら。
人影の一つ、メイド服の美女は直立姿勢のまま高速回転し、地面に膝まで埋まった状態で着地した。

「防御結界そのものにも、書き換え防止のダミー術式を、盛りっ盛りにしていたはずですが？」
「わたし、そういうの見抜くの得意で……あっ、でも、ダミーを見抜くのに一分近くかかったんです。本当です！」
“You’re precautions were really good! It almost took me a minute to see through and disable them!” 
Again: Poor Louis!
「一分……あれを一分……？ 私が一ヶ月かけて組んだ術式を、一分？」
この時、ルイス・ミラーは密かに打算を働かせていた。
ルイスとしては、ケイシーに精神干渉魔術をかけて過激派の名前を自白させ、その上で関係者全員を粛清してしまった方が、後腐れが無くていい。
だがそれをしたら、きっとこの先、モニカの協力は得られなくなるだろう。
〈沈黙の魔女〉モニカ・エヴァレットの力は、本人が思っている以上に強大だ。協力を失うのはあまりに惜しい。
Oooh, so that’s how it gets solved. Monica didn’t explicitly play that card, but yeah, it is likely that she’d be more unwilling to work with him in the future.
「そちらのお嬢さんが正直に全てを白状するのなら、精神干渉魔術は使わないと約束しましょう。身柄は修道院送り。二度と社交界には出られない」
ルイスの精一杯の譲歩に、モニカは深々と頭を下げる。
「ありがとうございます、ルイスさん」
「そのかわり、貴女にはこれからも第二王子護衛任務に協力してもらいますぞ」
Okay, hoping for her to somehow stay part of the clique was definitely asking for too much after Louis arrived and found out about her, but at least for Monica this is a far less regrettable result than what would’ve happened ordinarily.
Still, it’s a pity. I enjoyed having her around.
「乗馬と刺繡の約束……守れなくて、ごめんね」
You better be sorry for that! And apologize to the readers who liked you too! 
On a more serious note, poor Monica. The author is handling this emotional scene really well.
この壁にもたれていると、魔力が少しだけ回復するのだ。それに、触れている額がヒンヤリして気持ちが良いような……。
そこでようやくモニカは思い出した。
シリル・アシュリーは魔力を溜め込みやすい体質の人間である。それゆえ、ブローチ型の魔導具で余計な魔力を体外に放出している。
つまり、シリルの周囲は他よりも魔力濃度が少しだけ高いのだ。

モニカはその場に力無くしゃがみ込み、ぐずぐずと洟を啜る。
これは悲しみの涙じゃない。罪悪感からくる涙だ。
（騙してごめんなさい、いっぱいいっぱい噓を吐いてごめんなさい）

「ノートン会計が起きたら、寮まで送ってほしい。我々が女子寮に入るわけにはいかんだろう」
「……私は便利屋じゃないのよ？」
辛辣な妹の言葉にシリルがうぐっと言葉を詰まらせれば、ニールが困り顔でクローディアを見上げた。
「あの、ダメですか……クローディア嬢？」
「気にしないで、私とモニカは親友ですもの。親友を寮まで送るのは当然のことだわ」
生憎と彼は感知の魔術を習得していないから、勘を頼りに調べて回るしかない……が、一箇所だけ、どうしても見ておきたい場所があった。
──それは、旧庭園。フェリクスはあの旧庭園の噴水に、学園を保護する大規模結界が仕込まれていることを知っている。
Oh, good instincts!
そして、元々噴水があった場所に一人の男がしゃがみ込んで、何やら作業をしていた。
Haha. He thought earlier that Louis might’ve been the one who had summoned the Spirit King… and now he actually finds Louis at the place he wanted to inspect.

I mean, the obvious reason would be: The barrier fountain thingy has been destroyed, and he’s inspecting or repairing it.
そこにふわりと強い風が吹き、上空からメイド服を着た若い女が舞い降りる。
Oh no. Please don’t talk about Monica while Felix listens.
(It might have interesting consequences, but it’s probably too soon!)

And there it is!
At least he didn’t call her “Monica”.

リンジーを呼び止めたのは、選択授業でチェスの講師をしているカール・ボイドだった。
Welcome to this meeting of “characters who were featured early and then never really come up again” anonymous.
Our ballroom dancing teacher never played a big role despite being featured really early, and the chess club was completely forgotten. I hope they play a role in the next volume!

「えぇ、高等科二年は、モニカ・ノートンとグレン・ダドリーの二名が今年の編入生ですわ」
「ふぅん、そう。あの二人が……」
かつて魔術師養成機関ミネルヴァで、七賢人〈沈黙の魔女〉〈結界の魔術師〉を指導した老教授は、口元を覆う白い髭を指で弄りながら惚けた口調で呟いた。
「とても面白いことになりそうね。やっぱりボク、この学園に来て良かったよ」
Wait wait wait. Does he know and is just not letting anything on?!
部屋の中央には、円卓が一つと椅子が八つ。国王と七賢人のための椅子だ。
その椅子の一つに腰掛け、ガラス張りの天井越しに夜空を眺めている女がいた。
緩く波打つ銀色の髪を背に垂らし、薄絹のドレスの上にローブを羽織ったその女は、この国最高の予言者にして、七賢人が一人。〈星詠みの魔女〉メアリー・ハーヴェイ。
I can’t believe we’re meeting a new Seven Sages character right after the epilogue on the very last page. The author really knows how to tease.
「あぁ、やっぱり……何回やっても駄目だわ。どうして、見えないのかしら」

彼ならば、きっと歴史に名を残す名君になるだろう、と誰もが口を揃えて言う。
Not quite everyone, but yeah.
But huh, I’m a bit surprised that she was talking about Felix when it said that she cannot see the future of a certain person. I really expected it to be Monica. But it fits. Still, curious and mysterious… let’s see what the next volume brings!
And there we have it. It’s the end of the volume. I liked this more than the last one - mainly because there was a lot less bullying, and Monica was actually starting to get along with a fair amount of people!
Huh, in the end the epilogue section was a lot shorter than it looked like, because my Bookwalker edition had about 40 pages of bloat at the end.
I was hoping against hope that we’d get another scene with the neglected teachers 
. All in all, some nice teasers at the end.
Well, it makes more sense for her to look into the future of the royal heirs given her job. Speaking of which, that reveal about the cloud of doom hanging over the kingdom. What a cliffhanger.
I also liked this volume quite a lot. Less bullying of Monica, more friendship and development for the side characters. Good mix of standalone mystery and reveals about worldbuilding information that’ll probably be relevant in later volumes.
