「なんだあのキラキラした建物は……あれが学校だと!? くそぅ、くそぅ、目が潰れそうだ……忌々しい忌々しい忌々しい……あんなキラキラした学校に通う人間なんて、きっとどいつもこいつも、愛されて育ちましたって顔をしてるに決まってる……あぁぁ、妬ましい妬ましい妬ましい、呪われろ呪われろ呪われろ……」

The rambling with the repetition reminds me of the archbishops of sin in Re:Zero 
But yeah, curious who that is. I guess this book’s main antagonist? Although we already do have two assassins from the last book vying for that position, if I remember correctly.
だが中等科の校舎だけは、どうしても高等科の生徒であるモニカが出入りすると目立ってしまう。必然、警備の目も甘くなる。
But I guess it’s also less likely for the prince to go there?
「その点は全く問題ありませんわ、ご安心ください。……あぁ、それと」
イザベルは何かを思い出したような顔でポンと手を打ち、モニカを見た。
「いざという時の合図を決めておきましょう、お姉様！」

「もしお姉様に助けが必要になったら……そうですね、左手で耳を触ってください。その時はわたくしか、近くにいるノートン家の者が動きます」
No surprise here!
「黒猫殿は、〈沈黙の魔女〉殿の使い魔だとお聞きしました」
「え、えぇと、そう、ですね……」
曖昧に頷くモニカに、リンは淡々と言う。
「〈星詠みの魔女〉殿の使い魔であるフクロウ殿は人語を語らず、人に化けることもありませんでした。黒猫殿は優秀な使い魔なのですね」
「そ、そういう使い魔なんです……」
ネロの存在を追及されるだろうか、とモニカは冷や冷やしたが、リンはあっさり「そうですか」と口にしただけだった。
Hum hum. I guess something special is going on with Nero, considering Monica seems rather… evasive on the topic?
(Plot twist: Monica is actually Nero’s 使い魔.)
「あの、リンさん……ネロが人の姿になることは……」
「はい、ルイス殿には内緒にしております。黒猫殿は〈沈黙の魔女〉殿の切り札であると、うかがっております故」
Maybe Nero is an extremely high-grade spirit and turning between forms isn’t something that even high-grade spirits can usually do?
モニカは精霊と契約したことがないので実感が湧かないが、契約を結んだ魔術師と精霊は距離が離れていても、簡単な意思疎通ならできるらしい。

That’s quite a thing to drop casually. So either Nero is not a spirit at all… or he’s just hanging out with her out of his own will?!
(Considering that it was mentioned so casually and then not further explained… did we already know about that somehow?)
リンは窓を開けると、黄色い小鳥に姿を変えて羽ばたいていった。
Ah yeah, Rin could do that. So I guess the “turning between forms is highly unusual” thing is out. I wonder why Monica doesn’t want Louis to know then?
「なんかすげー陰気で、『呪われろ呪われろ』ってブツブツ呟いてて……あぁ、あと、お前が持ってるのとそっくりのローブを着て、杖持ってた
Ah, that guy! And he’s… purple?
I guess if he has the same robe as Monica, he’s probably a Seven Sages member. Maybe the shaman, or whatever the role was exactly? Witch doctor?
Seems like quite the character then, but I guess that’s nothing new for this series

王族の人間が幼少期から少量ずつ毒を飲んで、毒に対する耐性をつけるように、初代〈深淵の呪術師〉もまた、自身の体に呪術に対する耐性をつけたのだ。
そして、その体に刻まれた呪術は次代の〈深淵の呪術師〉に伝承されていく。
三代目〈深淵の呪術師〉であるレイの体には二〇〇を超える呪術が刻まれており、全身に呪いの紋様が浮き出ている。
I wonder if that has anything to do with his… disposition.
And I thought that doing spells upon the body was forbidden? Or was it just healing magic? Or just upon others?
「なんで〈沈黙の魔女〉が、セレンディア学園の制服を着てるんだ……？」
Oh, so he didn’t come as her support then?
これ以上の言い訳は、モニカには無理である。こうなったらもう、正直に話して任務に協力してもらうしかない。

ルイスの邪悪な笑顔を思い出し、ヒィンと涙目になりつつ、モニカは口を開いた。
「あのですね……実はわたし、〈結界の魔術師〉様の要請を受けて、第二王子の護衛任務をしてまして……」
Oh wow, she’s going right to “telling him everything”, huh? You know that you could’ve also just told him that you’re undercover to protect the festival, right? It wouldn’t even have been a lie!
リディル王国で呪術の扱いを認められているのは、レイの実家であるオルブライト家のみである。
Ah, so that’s a special exception for that one family. Gotcha.
「……で、その呪具の一つがセレンディア学園に紛れ込んだらしくて」
?!
「俺は学園祭の客人としてセレンディア学園に入り込み、こっそり呪具の回収をしようと思ってたんだ……だけど……だけど……」
At the time when there’s thousands of other people and security is extra vigilant? 「だけど……」 indeed.
「セレンディア学園の制服の白さに心が折れた」

「しかもあのキラキラした空間……キラキラした人間がいると空気もキラキラするのか？ あんなキラキラ空間に俺がいたら絶対に場違いじゃないか。後ろ指さされて、石を投げられて、笑いものにされるんだろ。知ってるんだからな……あぁぁぁ、なんて恐ろしい場所なんだ、セレンディア学園……あんな空間にいたら俺は溶けてしまう。塩をかけられたナメクジになってしまう……」
I’m pretty sure he’d be out of place pretty much anywhere. Except maybe in a Seven Sages meeting!
「そういうことだから、お願いだ……お、俺、あのキラキラした学園に入れるように頑張るから……すごくすごく頑張るから……俺と一緒に呪具を回収してくれ、〈沈黙の魔女〉」
Congratulations, Monica, you have two secret missions now
レイは学園祭が始まるまでにセレンディア学園に少しでも近づくのだと、死にかけのナメクジのような歩みで学園に這い寄っていた。
I like that Monica isn’t actually the least socially inept one in the Seven Sages.
モニカの腕の中で、ネロがしみじみと呟いた。
「やっぱ七賢人って、人格破綻者集団なんだな」

最近身につけたばかりの飛行魔術は、まだまだ使いこなせているとは言い難い有り様だった。
飛行魔術はただ真っ直ぐ前進するより、ゆっくりと上昇する方がバランスを取るのが難しい。

早朝の空を飛行魔術でフラフラ飛んでいる小さな魔女の姿を、女子寮の窓からオペラグラスで観察しているメイドがいた。
まだ年若いそのメイドは、小さな魔女が屋根裏部屋に入ったことを確認すると、窓から離れて姿勢を正す。
そうして己が仕える主人に、その目で見たものを報告をした。
「間違いありません。あれは生徒会会計モニカ・ノートン嬢です」
「……そう」
Uh-oh. When this segment started I assumed it was just Isabelle’s maid, but… apparently not?
Including… I forgot his name, the guy with glasses from the last volume… this is the second time she’s outed. At least this time just as someone who can do magic, not as the Silent Witch. Hope it goes well.
短く相槌を打ったのは、椅子に腰掛け扇子を広げていた艶やかな金髪の美貌の令嬢。
生徒会書記ブリジット・グレイアム。
Oh my. That’s… not good. The bully from volume 2 gone, almost the whole student council likes her at this point, and it just had to be the one holdout. at least I assume she’s a holdout; we know that she was rather antagonistic and have never seen her behave positively towards Monica.
We haven’t seen that much from her at all, now that I think about it.
（耐えることには慣れているわ。もう一〇年も、耐え続けてきたのだから）
砂を嚙むような気持ちで歯嚙みし、ブリジットは扇子を握る手に力を込める。
瞼の裏側に愛しい人の姿を思い描き、その胸に静かな決意を隠しながら。
（……殿下）
Oh. Is she in love with the prince? Is that what she’s “enduring”? (Wait, she isn’t betrothed to him, right? It’s been too long )
「そういえば今朝、女子寮の外でノートン会計を見かけましてよ。貴女も緊張して早起きをしてしまったのかしら？」
Huh, that was faster than expected. Even if it’s only half of what she has on Monica.
（あぁ、そうか）
シリルは自分の胸のモヤモヤの正体に気がついた。
モニカが下手なダンスを披露すれば、生徒会の恥になる。自分はそのことが不安だったのだ。だから胸がモヤモヤしたのだ。きっとそうだ。そうに違いない。となれば解決方法は簡単だ。
Yep, sure, that’s definitely it.
Better help her for the sake of the *checks notes* student council’s honor.
「失礼、突然こんなことを頼んで申し訳ないが……薔薇の花を一輪、譲ってもらえないだろうか」
Haha. Monica, you brought this unto yourself 
It’s a pretty cute thing for him to do.
庭園を見回したシリルは、純白の薔薇に目を留めた。
I wonder if a white rose means something special that he doesn’t know. Maybe a marriage proposal?
「あの白い薔薇を」
シリルの言葉に、女子生徒達が一斉にキャァッと華やいだ声をあげた。
