And this is the final week of season 2! After this week, based on the poll, we’ll have a week off then a week for Non Non Vacation.
I remember when my friends started getting mobile phones at around Komari’s age, though I think kids these days get it much earlier. The countryside reception troubles were real in those days too, though height wasn’t the deciding factor lol.
I paused to read the text on the sign and looked it up on Jotoba, it seems to actually read basically “I got wrapped up in something, it’s a pain”
Hikage really has it rough, being run circles around by her much younger sibling who is also apparently building for a career as a Jojo character.
I mean, the plushies showed us Hotaru’s double sided nature before, so this isn’t a surprise.
I wasn’t able to understand pretty well when everyone was talking over each other, but I guess Hikage was bribed by 刺身.
A return to form where Komari is the one embarassed by getting railroaded into Renge’s fantasies. Surely Hikage should be aware that happens by now.
I know someone complained in the season 1 thread about how little happens in this series, I don’t think they’d have been impressed by the 5 minute shot of the kids trying to kill time while waiting for the adults talking lol.
I guess I’m so used to anime portraying rows of them in cities, but I didn’t realise the sakura trees could get that big lol

We’re now onto something I haven’t watched before, as following the week off, this week is time for the Non Non Biyori Vacation move! Based on the poll (and both voters) we’ll do the movie in its entirety this week.
I liked the movie!! It felt refreshing, as if I actually went on vacation myself lol
駄菓子屋さん’s soft spot for Renge still holds true!! When she let her come to the mall with them haha. Aww, and then them sitting together at the beach!

Ah, the star sand!! I’ve seen pictures of those kinds of beaches. It’s so pretty!
Bioluminescence!!! Oh man, my family and I were able to see bioluminescence on the crashing waves of a beach one of the few times we went on vacation. It was totally unexpected, we weren’t looking out for it at all and the locals said it didn’t happen super often. And it was amazing!! It feels a little silly to get so moved by drawings in an anime haha, but it’s so beautiful and makes me happy. But I guess it’s because it does a great job of portraying and reminding you of beautiful real nature!!

Oh, the american cars have made it to Japan judging by the relative height of Natsumi and Renge to that car lol
So the entire named population of the village has gone on this trip. I’m just imaging a tourist passing through and wondering if they’re in a horrow movie at the apparently abandoned village. I guess one of the NPC rice farmers will fill them in eventually.
The attendant’s voice sounds a little unusual by anime standards. Is this an Okinawa accent?
Beach episode, I suppose it was inevitable. In other news, Renge in sunglasses is hilarious
This is actually my first time seeing badminton in anime, though it is actually pretty popular here. I’m going to spending this whole movie going “Is that supposed to be an Okinawa thing in Japan?” it seems lol.
Does what she does really count as teaching?
I think we can rebrand this series to Komari’s Series of Unfortunate Events, at times
