さすガット!! I love it!

Is anyone else playing “where’s wormy-chan?” while reading?

Remember that he was left behind with K-dog in the previous chapter.

Oh yes. But spotting him/her in the last few panels of the chapter is fun.

My boy wormy is craving a whiff of that pure 禁止魔墨 to satiate his addiction and you think it’s funny?

Impressions for this chapter

I like that the author always favours the cutest solution to every problem! I certainly didn’t expect this denouement.

Doragon-chan got a cozy nap and a shower to boot! Five-star dungeon.

My thought exactly! It’s just as epic as ニブイキ from ヤニすう.

Chapter 7 magic lessons

Can anyone tell me, what exactly the repeater symbol did in the magic circle they came up with together? They treated it as a major revelation that they needed one, but I couldn’t figure out what for.

They were considering many materials but none would do the trick because they couldn’t maintain their shape in the long term, they’d flow/settle/dissipate quickly. The repeater keeps refreshing the cloud to keep it pristine. That’s what’s showcased in the bouncy dragon picture I posted above.

If you put it like that, it makes sense. It’s just that the bouncy dragon picture confused me, because it makes it look like the dragon gets woken up periodically.

Ahah, that’s very true, that could easily have backfired. I assumed in “reality” it was a more continuous process. I mean doragon-chan seemed pretty pleased with it until the sky came crashing down.

Ahhh I finally got my hands on the 2nd volume (treated myself to physical copies for vol.s 1 & 2) so I’m now able to catch up and read along

Chapter 6

She denied that she was talking about Coco here but my first thought was woooow she went there :joy:

Chapter 7

The circles are such an interesting way to approach magic. The ‘ふわふわ’ dust cloud circle seems to be made up of multiple circles (which— don’t they activate as soon as they’re closed? How’d they do that?) so I wonder just how layered they can end up. Circles on circles on circles?

I love that their plan was so wholesome!! And the way the author makes these girls so expressive, it’s really enjoyable just to see them interact. サスガット!

So the つばあり帽 guy wanted to encourage creative problem solving by dropping her and the other kids into this pocket dimension. I’m left with the question of whether there are lots of kids like Coco that the group is trying to influence or if she’s special in some way. Prophecy is so ubiquitous in high fantasy that it’s hard not to think of it!

The author has certainly been very evasive so far when it comes to explaining how multiple circles are synchronized together.

I don’t own any physical manga but if I were to start, this would certainly be the one, must be awesome to see the art there, especially when it covers several panels

Chapter 7

He was only interested in Coco, it wasn’t planned at all that the other girls would come along

The Brotherhood's plans

I think @Sasabonsam was talking about the possibility that there are other muggle girls out there who have also been given books and who might or might not be discovered and taken in by other magic users. I was wondering the same a couple of chapters ago, but so far, the recent chapters haven’t given us any new insights.

I guess the whole thing with the pocket dimension was just to get a moment alone with Coco to do… whatever he did to her mind…while the others were distracted. I bet he thought he’d get his chance sooner, rather than having to wait around for hours until Kefir created the distraction the dragon failed to provide.

I normally don’t buy physical manga either. Series tend to have so many volumes that it’s impractical to do it, ya know? But when a manga is this pretty, it’s definitely worth giving over some limited bookshelf space for a couple volumes : D

つばあり帽

I didn’t mean to imply that he was targeting the other apprentices as well, oops  but I did forget how explicit he was about it in that panel. It doesn’t seem likely that we’re going to get any new ideas as to what his true goals are for a bit, even though I’m really curious! Must fight urge to read ahead!!

Chapter 7

Also I feel like the author is trying to paint Qifrey as a suspicious character, with the “no don’t tell the authorities about the incident!”, but I don’t know why I’m not buying it… We’ll see!

Qifrey

Agreed. I think a scenario where he does his own thing is most likely. We already know from Alyra that he used to be the council’s “problem child”. I take that to mean that he doesn’t fully agree with the way things are done in their society. So the Brotherhood might see him as a potential ally or useful tool, because he agrees with some of their goals but not their methods…something like that.
Also fighting the urge to read ahead :military_helmet:.
